Yeah, it'd be a decent bit of business.
Whether the board would see it that way is another matter though.
The board have to take notice that they should not have brought us if they was not prepared for the potential of Championship Football.
So a swap would be fair, gets 3 players off their wage bill but onto ours.
And thats the problem those 3 players would still want over £10-15K a week each, we would get no fee for Gardner and see the wage bill increase by at least £20K a week.
But if you want to get promoted thats the price to pay, the only other way is to do a Wolves/WBA and thats build a team on low wage players but that could take years.
The KiD
Guthrie would be on roughly the same as Gardner.
Routledge would replace Ferguson on less and Best would come in for Jerome if he goes, again probably on less wages.
With promotion a priority we still need numbers in the squad, its a long haul in the fizzy pop, with cup games as well.
Saying that, they need to be of standard to suit our needs and that unfortunately does not come cheap.
Another question, are we playing skint?
I've always said to keep your cards close to your chest. That was the mistake when Yeung arrived.

I suspect they might be playing skint to drive harder bargains. I think all three would be good additions.
Well maybe we cant rule out Lovenkrands he did well for them in Championship and still got the odd goal in the Prem.
He had more of a effect for Newcastle than McFadden did for us
The KiD
We would only miss Gardners goals ,,lets face it, he aint got much skill , but it would be nice to keep him for another season ,but if he does want to go , sell him ,£5 million seems a fair price to me ..kro.
