He should keep playing all he's missing is a goal he's doing everything else right
He's doing better than Drogba did earlier in the season. Even though Drogba found the net a few times he's had some apalling perfromances. There's really not much point in keeping Drogba around because he is in decline but he is a big personality which is actually to our detriment. Torres, or if he's not up to it, a new CF needs to be the main man. I'm still not ready to give up on Torres though.
Keep faith in Torres but we need to play to his strengths.
His detractors seem to overlook the fact that Drogba has done the square root of Fook all this season (Bar the CL v Valencia in the one competition he still craves)
Drogba will be straight back in once he is back and rested unless Torres can do something in the next two or three games.
it'd be stupid to put drogba straight back in
Problem with Drogba is you don't know who's going to turn up, if the real drogba ( the one who puts 100% effort in and plays his heart out ) is up for selection then Drogba over Torres because i think Drogbas better than Torres anyway and always has been, but if the other Drogba ( the selfish moaning one who does nothing but moan and complain ) turns up then Torres all the way.
I personally think they should both play with Mata behind them, or Torres on the left, Danny boy right and Drog middle with Mata in a free role in midfield.
They can work together because Torres has proved with that cross on sunday he can play out wide to a perfect extent
One cross doesn't mean he can play outwide, he ain't a winger!
Torres isn't a winger, playing him out wide would be a slap in the face.
His cross the other day was very Beckham-esque. By that I mean he wasn't bombing done the wing, beating his man and cutting one back. He had loads of time, space teed it up for himself and put in a perfectly precise cross. Sturridge, although greedy, is a better fit out wide. More pace and trickery.
Not even that, he played wing against villa when he came on he was ineffective there looked lost. Yes he has teh attributes to play there same with playing AM but we can't move him strike itll knock his confidence

Lol. I dont think he's got any more confidence to lose Stig.
Torres is not going to get any better this season. At the start of the season he actually scared me when we went to Stamford Bridge. I was certain he would score.
But since then Chelsea have gone back to the old, boring, dour football with the midfield playing at a snail's pace just because AVB knows his current defence is not capable of playing the high line that made you so entertaining to watch at the start of the season.
Torres is never going to flourish in this current Chelsea team, I guarentee if he was at Arsenal he would be scoring close to or even more goals than RVP is bagging for us at the moment.
Here's a crazy thought, when Drogba returns, why don't we try pairing them up again???
We're experimenting, give it a fair trail for abit.
At the moment Torres is functioning brilliantly as a link man, so why don't we play 4-2-3-1 and give Drogba/Torres the license to switch who plays at the tip depending on how direct we're playing. Torres can always drift out into Mata's position (and vice-versa) if either prove ineffective. I guarantee the direct competition on the pitch will bring the best out of one of them.
Torres and drogba have never scored when on the ptich together
i think they managed 6 passes all last season
This season Torres has shown twice that he can link up with him gave him 2 good passes 1 vs Villa and 1 vs norwich ... but remind me when has drogba besides the 1st liverpool game ever passed torres ?
The problem to me is that he is our star striker and his lack of goals is making Avb look incompetent and is mainly responsible for our position on the league table, this has to stop.
It's simple.
Starting from when Drogba returns, play 4-2-3-1 in PL matches with both of them in the team. Play 4-3-3 in the CL with only one of them, the one who EARNED IT.
Guarantee one of two things will happen :
1) It'll bring the best out of one, or
2) It'll show one out for who he really is ..... in a bad way.
Either way we gain something, results or knowledge
