Good post.

I am amazed how the usual moaners have kept so quiet following this match.

Ok, the performance was hardly world beating, but it was certainly a big step in the right direction with much to be positive about.

After a poor performance, Revspencer, who hardly ever actually attends any matches and listens to the radio instead, normally can't wait to have a go at the team, their manager and the Club. The lack of comment by him and a few others after a pretty good performance, speaks volumes. They have a certain, unbalanced, view and if the facts don't back that view, they ignore them. Not a positive word between them.

These people aren't supporters and their views should generally be ignored.

I thought Wootang had a good game at right back. Didn't have loads to do but looked the part with his tackling when called upon.

Pep and Reid in central mid should be able to win any match.

The only thing that could have made us stronger yesterday is if we had reid in place of gunter from kick off. Gunter had a good game, cant fault the lad on the misses since he is a defender, but reid just seemed class and would have had a better chance of netting those sitters.

All the new boys did great but Pep was on fire in the middle of the pitch. Like its already been said, MOTM by a mile.

Two things things i noticed yesterday put me in a possitive mood about the future:
- We were attacking from both sides, usually choose a side an stick with it, with the other side only being used for heads. We were even attacking down the middle, its been forever and a day since we've been channeling it down the middle rather than crossing it over from the wings.

- We were taking pot shots and beating the offside rule. Before this the only way we tried to net anything was get it into the box, get a few men in and hope for the best. Yesterday we saw anyone and everyone taking shots, wanting the goal, rather than a pass and wait game. We also had harewood, miller, and findley (he REALLY should have netted it though) beat the traps and open them up.

Hopefully this wasn't just a show for doughty and this is how they will play week in week out. Since we have a better away form i'm looking forward to the show on tuesday.

This is the first game this season which you can truly say that the team is Cotterill's. A lot of people have been critical of him for anything and everything, but credit where credits due, he had a good team out yesterday, that played well as a unit.

But still couldn,t take three points and that is becoming more and more important as the season passes. In danger of being cut adrift of the pack. You must beat Coventry or you may be doomed to league one again.

Agreed a much better performance, hope we can build on it and not only score but keep a clean sheet would do camp a great confidence boost!

Personally I thought it one of the best performances this season.

____________

It was, and we still couldn't beat a poor Watford side.

It was Cotterills side alright, most of the players look more like heavyweight boxers than footballers.

It was better but considering how awful we've been that's not hard. I know you'll say I'm a moaner but it's not like we not have genuine reasons to be upset.

Sutton - if you found a wage packet in the street, you'd complain about how much tax they had stopped you.

I enjoy it.

The truth is I was disappointed we didn't lose. Then I'd have a reason to call for the manager to be sacked. I only follow forest in the hope we appoint bad managers because I then get to have a go at them on Internet forums.

I'm delighted at the moment. Also have the added bonus of annoying all the "true fans".

I think Red for 50 years put this thread up in the hope that a more positive light could be put on Forest instead of the usual whinging, moaning, and derogatory remarks aimed at the players and management.
I too was impressed by the performance yesterday and have high apple pie in the sky hopes that the future may just be brighter.
In fact I think I will throw the anti-depressents away or you can have them if you want Sutton

People are always going on about positivity. This is a forum where we discuss forest. Saying things are great and that the managers doing well or will get it right is not positive, it's just making rubbish up.

If someone says the managers doing a bad job or bad decisions have hurt the club. It's not moaning it's a statement of fact.

Pointing out the problems in the hope someone addresses them. What are you supposed to do? Not say what you think the problems are? Say things you dont believe?

posted on 12/2/12

Reckon it slipped past the club that we are not doing too well? 4 new players in,nearly half our outfield players yesterday are new signings, suggests to me that they are trying to address our problems.

You and Rev seem to think that you will have a 'I told you so moment' Thing is,you would be hard pressed to find any Forest fans that rate Cotterill as a manager or had him near the top of the list for their choice to replace Mac.

I'm could have said a I told you so at any point over the last month or so. I'm not bothered about that, your right about somethings in life wrong about others.

Cotterill should be sacked for the good of our club. The club are trying but nothing they do will turn Cotterill in to a good manager. And no football club will ever achieve anything with a bad manager in charge.

We've replaced footballers with big powerful lumps. If by a miracle Cotterill keeps us up we've got two years or as long as he makes it before we eventually sack him watching rubbish.

Positivity in my eyes is taking proper steps to sort out a problem. It's realising you've made a mistake and correcting it. That's positive. Pretending things are going to be ok when they aren't, letting the wrong man change the team or the squad will do more harm than good. That's negative

guediora was outstanding. he was so comfortable on the ball. never gave it away and always did something good with it too. (jonathan greening) mccleary is a threat when he gets the ball. he won't come looking for it though. we need to give it to him more often. the majority of the chances came via him. wooton looked pretty solid. i don't think he's a right back so fair play to him. higginbotham looked better than i thought he would. won every header and has got a decent left peg on him. possibly at fault for the goal maybe. i only saw it live but from where i was sat, he looked to be a few yards behind all the other defenders playing all their strikers onside. but that something that training will sort out. elokobi looked like a steady eddy. did what he needed to. a couple of times he looked like he was unsure what to do with the ball at his feet but cant fault him really.

harewood in my view offered little. never really got involved in the game. miller though not having his best game still got in the positions to score and looked a much bigger threat than marlon. findley apart from the 1on1 chance he missed actually put himself about a bit and looked pretty sharp. i'd like to see him and miller start up front v coventry next saturday.

bit of a long comment but heh might as well take advantage of the lack of character limit #twitter

Most of us thought Cotterill was a bad appointment from the start,so you clowns are not telling us anything

We now have FC,SOD and Cotterill at the club who all have managment experiance plus some good quality loan players. Let's now get behind them because sacking Cotterill is not an option for the club at this moment in time

Right, I've read the comments. I see both sides to this. Like sutton and many others I agree SC was not the man that I would appoint as our Manager.

What I do not agree with is the phrase "We've replaced footballers with big powerful lumps"

We need strong footballers in our side. I see where you are coming from and agree that I'd sooner watch football rather than hoofball. I didn't see much hoofball on Saturday.

It seems to me that FC has given SC some authoriyt to bring in some players that he thinks will try and get us out of this mess. Now personally, I think we need an Earnie to run onto Reidys or the Algerian's passes. Findley could of won us the game on Saturday but he fluffed it. With luck Gunter could of scored 2/3 goals.

I think SC has brought these new guys into our team to give us some muscle at the back. Chambers and co have been very poor this season.

I've always said I will back the Manager on match days and I even moaned when I saw the team sheet on Saturday. I came away with hope. That being, if we play that well next week, we will beat Cov comfortably.

To say we're in the relegation zone would be fact. To say that the managers doing a bad job or that bad decisions have hurt the club is opinion, and speculative at best.

it may be opinion but it would be the correct opinion.
