The Only One That Doesn't Want Falcao?!

I bought Rock Me Amadeus on 7" back in the mid 80s, he was good then

IMO Falcao would likely fnd himself deployed out wide

I will also say that of our strikers Anelka will very likely leave and Drogs and Kalou have also been linked away

Worked under AVB before, and can score goals, something all our strikers seemed to forget after Christmas

IMO the team next season will look something like:

---------Cech
--Ivan/VDW---JT--Alex/Luiz---Cole/PVA
-------Moutinho/Modric
---Ramires/McEachran-----Essien/Lampard
Falcao------------------Malouda/Kakuta/Sturridge
-----------Torres/Drogba

i think he is need.i can see 2 of the strikers of 3 leaving this summer.anelka and kalou or drogba.
sturrige will play out wide.if didie leave then we have 2 good stikers in falcao and torres.u need 2 main stikers if u play over 50 games per season anyway.bring lalkovic instad kalou/80 grand per week-no worth/ and promote to first team

Did you object with Mourinho bringing Carvalho with him from Porto too?

Did he cost too much?

Was he worth it?

You are not the only 1 who doesn't want Falcao,I for one do not want him.
There is no point of buying a player who is similar to Torres and will demand to play in center of a front 3,Falcao cannot play out wide he has to be in the middle so no thanks to Falcao.

Aguero would be a much better option because he would be able to play anywhere in the front 3.

I agree with chelseamf.
We need a player like Aguero, Sanchez or Neymar.
Lukaku would be a better option to Falcao becase he is 18, and has already said he is happy tot sit on the bench.

(r)Sturridge--------Torres--------Aguero

Would be perfect (y)

Playing Falcao on the wing would be like playing Hernandez on the wing or Torres on the wing, they are players who have to be in the box, because they are so deadly.

Personally i wouldn't mind us signing Falcao as he proved last year he is one of the best goalscorers in Europe. A lot of people say him and Torres are too similar players to be in the same team which could be true, i doubt either of them would want to play out wide in a 4-3-3 which seems to be Villas-Boas favoured formation, so that means 1 of them will probably be left on the bench, unless Villas-Boas decides to change the formation to something like this:
Cech
Alex, Terry, Luiz
VDW, Ramires, McEachran, Cole
Moutinho/Modric
Torres, Falcao
Or
Cech
VDW/Ivanovich, Alex/Luiz, Terry, Cole
Ramires, Mikel, McEachran
Moutinho/ Modric
Torres, Falcao
I cant see him playing either of these formations as i dont think it gives us enough width.

let the manager have who he wants, he has said he will make Torres better else I would have suggested bring in Falcao and sell Torres

AVB played 4-3-3 at OPrto and is very vocal on his support for it. I agree with OP, I would prefer Lukaku to be brought in. Falcao IMO is not needed

The Blue Kenyan
I know AVB played a 4-3-3 at Porto and how much he supports it, what i was trying to say is if he wants to use both Falcao and Torres together he would have to change the formation as i dont think either would be happy out on the wings. They might do it if they can swap places throughout the game something like what Drogba and Malouda like doing.

i certainly agree, we dont need falcao... unless he goes with 2 central strikers.

However think its clear in this modern era of the game 4-3-3 ( with slight variations ) is the way forward. In that respect i think we have Torres as the number 1 central striker with lukaku/sturridge as backup. Then we need someone like sanchez aguero and also sturridge can play on the width. and then the obvious a creative CM/AM.. i personally think pastore, i like that he is quite tall and big so could adapt to physical side of prem well... or modric/sneider, but just one as i see mcechran coming in this year!

and an attackking RB! (ivanaovic can play then when needed but struggles when we dominate possession vs lower sides)

I think we have to sacrifce didier for the sake of torres, the future and a new forward attacking style. Its a risk i know but unless we play with 2 central strikers we dont need another striker!

plus kalou and either anelka/malouda
