As a Leeds fan I know what this is like, there was no sympathy for us when we got into financial trouble, just constant mockery, so I got no sympathy for any other team including Rangers. You overspend and this is what happens.
In my opinion they should just liquidate and re-form as a Non-league team at the bottom of the English leagues, AFC Wimbledon-style.
In the long-run it would be much healthier for them than staying in the laughing stock, graveyard that is the SPL.
Hopefully ordinary working folk aren't laid off. That said, hopefully the table manners of their supporters have improved since last they graced us with their presence. The part timers of Bohs did give them a footballing lesson that night, but still....Only difference between Manchester 08 n that night was the absence of T.V. and c.c. t. v. cameras.Just ask any Phibsboro residents of a certain age.
great to see. that is all
It gets worse for Rangers. Not only will they have a trophyless season this year but they will have to sell their best players to raise revenue. Their side next season will be made up of youth team players and duds!

same as this season then
Meh don't really care for them but not really bothered what happens to them one way or another. Surely though a 10 or even 20 point deduction would do nothing to them as they are still guaranteed 2nd place.
Just as well they still have an unoffical ban on signing ROI players anyway! None of our players are affected by this, spare a thought for the Norths team they have 3 players caught up in this!
Its just fantastic and I dont have a shred of sympathy for them at all.
If Rangers fold , Celtic will be in trouble too. They are like 2 peas in a pod (bad peas at that). Sky will pull out , Celtic wont have any competiton , they will suffer (more) in Europe and it will be the final nail in the coffin for the SPL. Other teams who get bumper crowds when the Old Firm teams visit , will find that cut in half.
One of the guys i play football with is a massive Celtic fan , and however much he hates Rangers , he told me Celtic will struggle if they fold.
As for Robbies "unoffical" ban crap , how many ROI would "want" to play for Rangers.
People are people, almost all, if not all, have prejudices, me included.Problem is, when people allow those prejudices run wild, and demonise "the other lot". N that's the point, to have demons , you also need the good guys up in the sky.I'd like to think that if there were more agnotics/ aetheists , like myself, you might even have unsegregated crowds at old firm matches.Let me put it this way " We Are The People"
Alex we wont know until they are actually linked with a Roi player! I've been following the game as Man and Boy since the early 80's and I have NEVER seen them express an interest in signing one of our players! Seems a bit strange to me! Also you cant make the assumption that all ROI players are Celtic fans
I didnt make any assumptions Robbie but i suspect that most of them might be. Your making an assumption that because a club doesnt make a bid for a player from your country that they are bigoted, they havent made any bids for Indian players too. By your logic, they hate Indians too?
Thats just ridiculous now Alex! Two of the top scorers in the SPL are Roi players Heffernan and Daly. Not to mention Sammon and Rooney from last season. Sorry seems a bit strange that they never bid for proven Spl goal scorers from the Republic!
I will make a confession and say i have no clue about Rangers , or their transfer policy, just trying to get a rise from you for a giggle, young Robbie
They had a couple of Indians on trial during the season Alex. They were trying to tap into the market and exploit it financial gain. It didn't go well.
They have a ROI underage 'keeper on the books btw.
There ya go Robbie, you can take off your tinfoil hat.
