I'm hoping its more like we are on a stable footing now and he thinks he will sell us for a profit.

We have got to be a good choice for anyone looking, debt free, money been made, a good chance of promotion (albit through the play offs at this rate).

Can own more than one club as long as its in another league or country?? Im rather anoyed by this, surely he cannot sell up this early, theres work still to be done to make us profitable, unless he has been approached by a potential suiter withmoney to burn??

*Can you own sorry*

No money for signings...loans only...work it out...

I think you can own more than one club if they are in different football leagues - I believe Abrahmovich owns both Chelsea and CSKA Moscow, though I'm not sure if UEFA have since cracked down on this sort of thing.

Either way I suspect if Mandaric bought Rangers, we would be sold, right now, however, most of the work has been done, the debt has been shed and we are profitable. The concern would be if we got someone who threw this into reverse like Dave Richards

I think Roman just sponsors CSKA and plows a load of money in that way. I remember UEFA investigating a few years back.

Think you're right SARS, there's only a problem if the two clubs end up together in the same competition, conflicts of interest and all that.

Europe's a couple of seasons away yet though, so he could happily own both, if he's got the coin.

Suppose a small positive is his interest suggests he's not that keen to walk away from football altogether, which was suggested after the trial.

No money for signings during the last window...work it out...

Ah if it aint the "intellectual" Dingle, now I believe we shelled out for M Jones for a couple of hundred grand (dont know the exact figure) in the last window AND we bid 750k (or around that region) for Marshall...no money eh???

posted on 17/2/12

Thats twice you've said that now, but it remains untrue, the only one we really wanted was Marshall who was sodl to Leicester for £1M plus a wage packet grossly in excess of what we offer - I believe our "salary cap" is of the order of £15k per week whereas rumour has it Marshall was offered £20k per week by Leicester - though these stats are hard to nail down.

Either way, both transfer fee and salary levels were above what we could afford, so the only player we were after that we didn't get went to Leicester

Work that out then Sparty mi 8 fingered lad/feline hybrid!!!

Guess you're right...results show me that the strategy is working...

We're 3rd in the table and will almost certainly finish somewhere between 2nd and 4th. At worst that will give us a hoem second leg in the playoffs, we're going through a bit of a rough spell right now - all team have them - Huddersfield at the same time, Sheffield United earlier in the season.

I'm not going to bother expalin chaos theory to a kestrel molester, but overall I'd say our strategy was working

Ok Sparty if you are that clever for a dingle try this for size

Agreed, Sars, it was working...

posted on 17/2/12

Indeed, we may be in a bumpy patch, but 3rd in the table.... and with a manager and full complement of coaching staff.

Kestrel Molester nice one Sars

I can't believe I'm doing this, but ...

Apparently chaotic events have an underlying order to them, for example, commodity prices or stock exchanges rarely go up, down, up, down, up, down, rather there is an underlying string to them - usually up, up, up, down, down.

Let me put it in a more easily understood context, when you want to buy a lump of coal off the rag 'n' bone man the price changes over time - this week it might be 10 minutes with your mum, the next week it might be 20, but rarely does the payment required increase, then decrease, then increase then decrease; instead it will go up 4 times in a row then down twice.

If you monitor sports results they show a similar pattern - teams rarely go win, lose, win, lose etc; instead it is more like w w w w l l d w w w. This applies to all teams in all sports be they the LA Lakers or the Cudworth wife carriers. Currently Sheffield Wednesday are in rut, - the l l d section of the string - as are Huddersfield, but normal service will soon be resumed.

Interestingly you can apply the same theory to quantum states - which is why your radio or TV (assuming you have one from Radio Rentals) works - though I'm sure your Mum / sister / und so weit assures you that this is "magic"

Bit of an none story isn't it? Football club is nearly bust, man who buys bust football clubs might buy it! Lazy journalism.

BTW Sparty I bet Cryne is looking forward to Wednesday being back next season, at least you'll get a home gate above 12k for once

Well I wont belive it till Mandy actually comes out and says so, like you say its just from a journalist thus far
