Warnock tactics?

Said for a long time I'd like to see Snoddy in the middle behind the front 2, he played that role against spurs a few seasons ago and was ace, also agree he should be captain.

I expect this to be the Warnock team

Lonergan
Connolly Lees Bromby Pugh
Brown
Townsend White
Snodgrass
McCormack Becchio

I like the look of that team. But we have Townsend and Brown who he praised after the game. It'll be interesting to see who and how he plays. He seemed to like Becchio as well from the sounds of it.

Bromby? Dont think he will get anywhere near it to be honest. If he does rek it will be more likely at RB. Cant even remember the last time he played for us, maybe Brighton away?

As for Brown if he does come into the team it will be for Pugh rather than Clayton, only thing with Brown is that he usually cant go 2 full games without picking up a knock so dont see him being anything more than a backup player.

Bromby and Warnock have good history together so I do think he will get a chance.

Warnock praised Brown today and I've been one of his few supporters. Today he was pretty invisible, although that isn't a bad thing for a defensive midfielder, but he hasn't had what I would consider a bad game for a long while. People tend to say a player is bad when they go unnoticed, sometimes that means they're just doing their job. I reckon he'll play a bigger part under Warnock.

Also I don't see why you include Delph in your formation, he'll be gone after the next game.

I said about Delph going back in the last paragraph.

Did you see Browns first touch today? shocking, as Warnock also pointed out. Brown isnt the answer, He wont hack 3 games back to back, let alone 14. Bromby and Warnock might have good history together but Bromby isnt as good as Obrien, Bruce or Lees. So therefore he wont start ahead of them. Maybe he will get a go at RB but he is a natural CB and Connolly is a natural RB who is better in that position.

Wow he had a bad first touch

The role he plays he doesn't usually have the space to make a touch like that

He isn't going to turn our season around, but you clearly didn't see his game at Forest, and the 5 games he played after.

ANTI - I clearly did see the game at forest tho and they Forest shocking anyone would have looked good. Our entire team looked like world beaters that night. If someyone had gone to that game and knew nothing about football they might have guessed it was a cup game against two teams from differnt divisions. (Plus they had the Speed factor that night).

And yeah i did see Browns games after that I go to every game. Infact the next game he went off injured (Which was kind of my point). and in the other games he was usually subbed after picking up a booking and doing not much else.

Not my preferred choice but i think its what Warnock will go with

It'll be interesting to see what Mr Warnock's team selection is like next week having seen our 'squad' in training all week!

posted on 19/2/12

It's nice of you lot to tell Warnock how to do his job before he's officially taken it up. It was a good few weeks before Simon Grayson benefited from your collective wisdom; you just let him flounder for that initial period, so what chance did he really have?

Now that you're in your stride, don't just limit your expertise to Leeds, it may well be that Harry Redknapp will be needing you presently to tell him precisely what squad to select and the correct team, tactics and formation to help him win Euro '12. Come on, 606 cyber-experts, your club AND country need you!!

Superb, I wish I'd thought of that!

Brown is has bad has it gets and was awful today

And regard lees, thing about young players they get hyped for nothing.

I've said from start, long term this lad hasn't the scope to be a top defender

And if am being honest, if he wasnt young, people would say he's rubbish because to be honest he's cost us alot of goals, and its not inexperience, it's basic school boy errors, like get goal side.

And Hopefully someone will grab hold of White and coach the lad because he's going backwards

Robo, and Eric,

The point of the forum is to debate. As someone who has only 'live text' on the Telegraph or BBC websites to follow games, I find the contributions of Yeboah and his ilk immensely useful in understanding what is going on. They are not trying to do the manager's job, just expressing their own opinions on formations, tactics and players which is what the site is for.

PS - what happened to that absolute hero who used to hook up his kitchen radio to a PC and stream the local commentary on Leeds matches to the entire planet? Please get the show back on the road if you are out there.

It's unacceptable.
Discussing football on a football forum.
Shame on you all!

I assume Keith Curle will be a member of the staff. Maybe he can teach young Lees something about the art of defending.
If Warnock gets us in with a chance of the play-offs then he'll have done well. Think his real work will be this summer. Who to keep and who to move on.

Do you rate lees.

Am not saying he's bad but long term can't see him being good enough for us

posted on 19/2/12

LIW, I think he can improve. To what level I'm not sure, but would say he could be a decent at this level of football but don't think he's been coached to improve at present.

posted on 19/2/12

I think Brown will fill the Pugh holding midfielder role.

But, I agree I think he will go to a diamond 4-1-2-1-2 formation.

Is this a football forum where people come to discuss all that is football???

We have a new manager, so isnt it natural to wonder about his take on things, why are you even on this site for, The fact you have commented on this site is a contradiction to your post - YOU ABSOLUTE BELL PIECE!

posted on 19/2/12

yeboah, why spoil a decent response with a cheap shot at the end. Why can't some people just keep it civil?

posted on 19/2/12

Coz ppl like him do my nut in!!! They just come on here and make cheap sarky shots rather than debating! Needed to vent!
