From Ian Wright to Denis Bergkamp to Patrick Vieira to Thierry Henry to Cesc Fabregas they come and they go.
Thing is Wenger just keeps producing and now he's delivered the kid Jack who's taken Lampards place in the England team and on only half of his wages!
Torres is right. Irreplaceable for the Gunners.
I'm hoping Nasri's delay in signing is about winding up utd fans and giving us one over on them when he does sign.
If Fabregas does go, I wish him well, he has been class throughout him time with us and always respected the fans and the club but needless to say I would be totally gutted
Well said Kamran. Have been saying that about the team's reliance on Cesc being a handicap since the end of the 09/10 season but everyone just gave me stick for not liking our captain (something I've never said).
I went a step further than you though and said that I believe the formation and system we've used to allow Cesc free run of the midfield has been detrimental to the development/game of other players on the team. Shifting them out of thier best postition. Denilson is the best example of this. His first season as a starter was a blinder, he finished it king of the midfield stats for interceptions and ball contact and had a buzz about his name among the pundits. Wenger switched to the 4-3-3 like formation forcing Denilson into a Song role he can't play and now look. His game's suffered massively and he's hated by his own fans for not fitting into a round hole when he was a square peg to begin with.
If Cesc goes, I'd actually like to see Arshavin switched into a central role to replace him. I believe that he would make us far more effective as a unit than Fabregas can.
Did we REALLY cope with the loss of players like Henry, Bergkamp, Vieira, Pires.......?
We haven't won a thing since those players left

Oh yes we have won.
We've been top four every season beaten by teams like Chelsea that spend £75 million in January.
Losing to that kind of competition is fine. Or are you telling me that we wouldnt have won the quadruple with Torres and Luiz instead of Bendtner and Squillaci?
Now that the new rules will bring in a level playing field just watch us go.
Erm, yes we are too reliant on him, but that doesnt mean we should get rid of him. I'd rather we bring in other quality players to give us more options, rather than getting rid of our best player. Now that we have another excellent midfielder (wilshere) our reliance on cesc should reduce. The thing with cesc playing as an attacking midfielder has meant whenever we get into the attacking third the ball goes to him, its a bit predictable, but with wilshere he have another option now, and id like to see cesc play as a centre midfielder instead so he can run the game instead of always trying to force a through ball.
Nasri is replaceable although I would like him to stay. Fabregas too is also replaceable but not yet. Ramsey for me is the long term replacement for Cesc but he is not yet ready. That is why I am desperate for Cesc to give us at least 1 more season. That way we can ease Rambo instead of throwing him in the deep end and hoping for the best. No matter who we sign this Summer, we will be a worse team without Cesc. We need him for at least 1 more season or I fear for our top 4 place next season, I really do.
We should let Cesc go for 27M plus Thiago Alacantara (valued at about 12M).
We should let Nasri go but to a club outside PL.
Then get Juan Mata in for about 20M and let him and Arshavin take over these roles with Ramsey waiting in the wings.
FALSE! tell me by whom we can replace them? We know what happened to us when Flamini ( Fly money) goes to Italy.
