Yes, tom......it appears nothing has!
If you think we are genuinely thowing about £15k a week contracts then fair enough.
Mindst, it's not the funniest thing I've read on this thread.
Again monster, I point you to what I said 'rumour has'. I was simply restating something I had seen on the internet.
I find it extremely unlikely we could offer that much, hence the reason I said it was clutching at straws. Much like us and the remainder of our season.
Up the owls!!!!
£15k a week is probably off the scale for us, but not by as large amount as might be expected - I would GUESS our unofficial wage cap was of the order of £10-12.5k per week on the basis of what we were ALLEGED to be paying Jeffers, so £15k is unlikely but not beyond the bounds of possibility - anyway, didn't Leicester offer him something of the order of £20k per week
And wasn't Lunt on £50k per week .......
Please tell me 50k means 50 Kroner
Up the owls!!!!
I would say our highest paid players are on no more than £6/7k a week & they'll have been from the previous regime (eg Morrison)
All the 'rumours' about Jeffers being on £10k+ were bollards.
I was laughing at the rumour, tom. I'm truly sorry for only using a smiley when 6 paragraphs would have done it!
Very hard to quantify, but the only thing I can find is the article below
A few rough guesses would imply - the average wage in 2006 was £1300/wk for a League 1 player, so the average for a player at his peak would be about £1750, and the average for a peak player - i.e a forward would be about £2000/wk. I would guess that we are a high payer for our league, so our average forwards wage would be around £3500/wk
The question then is what is the spread of these wages - i.e. how much more would say Madine earn than a forward out of the youth ranks - this is probably 2-3 times which would put our peak players wage at around £9k per week
Now that is based at 2006 levels, so in reality it may be a little higher, though the effect of recession may limit this growth - if you used GDP growth and doubled it you might get around £10-11k per week

Somewhat educated guess work but likely to be a reasonable guess
No worries monster, although I wouldn't go adding sarcasm to your long list of achievements on here just yet.
Up the owls!!!!
