Everton needed the money and Beckford was never prolific in the PL anyway?
Overally he was fairly pony at Everton if I recall?
Championship is probably his level...
well he didn't set the PL alight but considering he came up from league 1, 8 in 32 games isn't too bad not to mention the amount of those games which were subs.

Its anecdotal, but my mates an Everton supporter, never stopped complaining about him, said he was glad to see the back of him.
I never saw much of him, thought he was good at Leeds, but he didnt get much game time at Everton apparently, because he was - as stated earlier - "complete pony"
Personally I liked him at Goodison, his goal against Chelsea proved he has a great individual talent...It's down to a team ethic at the end of the day.
Denis is looking really promising tho!
he was massively overated
His goal against Chelsea was almost entirely fluke. He got jammy as hell on the half way line. He showed a lot of pace after that, granted. But then his "finish" was going wide. Keeper's hand changed the balls course to put into corner. He was pants all in all. Mind you, don't remember many other players scoring more than 8 for us for a while.
He did well at Everton scored 10 goals & always looked a threat when he came on.
He left for 2 reasons, he fell out big time with Moyes & we needed some cash.
We got him for nothing and sold him for more than that. Good business.
