Could it be that someone just thinks that they are better players.

Downing has played very well for England recently even if he has not for LFC. Cahill has been in most of the recent squads.

Frazier Cambell is in the squad as England are devoid of strikers and if Bent get injured who do you pick? The friendlies are to try new things.

Cleverley has jumped no pecking order at all - they are just trying new things and he has quality. What with Wilshere maybe being injured it makes perfect sense.

Rose and Livermore don't deserve a mention I'm afraid.

Dyer should be over Walcott, not Lennon

It's madness. Downing must keep thanking his lucky stars, he's been getting in the England squad over better players throughout his career. He was getting in over Young when Young had the most assists in the PL, and now even when he's been among the worst English wingers in the league he's getting in over Lennon and AOC.

Hey!

Downing has no goals and no assists in 1749 minutes of league football this season.

Cleverly has played 339 minutes of football this season, starting just 4 games, but at least he has more assists (1) than Downing.

Campbell has 2 league starts all season with 1 goal.

Its one thing building for the future but do any of these players really have any chance of making the Euro squad?

Lennon has 3 goals and 4 assist from 9 starts.

Defoe has as many goals as Bent in about half the number of matches., and way more than Campbell.

What about Oxalade Chamberpot? He's showing himself to have more talent and desire than Walcott.

It's just pearce being faithful to some recent U21s. Its pathetic!

I dn't understand how Livermore or Rose would get ahead of Canbell. Cambell IS a WTF choice but at least he is starting and doing pretty well for his club, Livermore and Rose are just young squad players. In that case then Bertrand and McEachran should be called up as well.

The Adventures Of Batmanu Eboué & R...

Because all the selected players, as poor as they are, are better than the Spurs players mentioned.

Is that why Spurs are currently 3rd in the table and still in the FA Cup then because all their players are rubbish.

The only good call from Pearce was not picking Oxo after he has played the sum total of precisely zero 90 minutes games, and is another hyped up pile of p....from the Emriates like Walnut.

Even if Walcott were dropped, the obvious choice in his place would be Sturridge; then Nathan Dyer and even AOC. I've not been impressed by Lennon in anyway.

The only Spurs players worthy of playing for England would be Parker and maybe Walker.
