Townsend was apparently unhappy at Leeds. Homesick, or something. Don't think it's because of injuries to our first teamers.
We need Smith to sign a new contract too.
To be honest i've haven't seen enough of Smith to comment, but I always thought loaning out Townsend was a strange one considering he'd made an impact in the Europa. Hopefully he'll get games against Stevenage and Bolton in the cup.
Falque isn't even getting a look in at Southampton
Carroll seems to be doing good though
Carroll is playing at least, despite Derby losing every game since he went there...
Townsend has gone back as he wasn't happy with us says he was homesick. Grayson was also the guy that brought him in so he might not be over the moon that Warnocks now in, maybe Warnock hasn't got him in his plans?
Smith although we at Leeds heard rave reviews from MK didn't really show up in the 2 games he played except for his pace. He was caught out of position a few times and just needs to learn the game abit more I think, again not a Warnock loan which is maybe why he is going back? Our own RB has been perfectly good enough the last few seasons but had a fall out with Grayson so maybe Warnock is going to use him, no need to pay for a loan when we have enough players there already! But I do think league 1 is still his level at the moment. Maybe he will go back to the Dons?
Hope this helps
There is no point in loaning players out to lower League clubs if those clubs do not play them. is there?
Townsend apparently was not happy, it is difficult moving to a new area with few if any friends especially if you know it is only for a month or two.
There is also the effect on his mental state, motivation wise he played some games for the first team and is then loaned out yet again.
Smith was rated their best player at MK Dons and I know they were disappointed to lose him. Both Smith & Townsend are skillful players & Warnock has never been known for his ball playing teams, he just likes grafters and players who can put fear into the opposition in a physical manner.
Hopefully he'll get games against Stevenage and Bolton in the cup

He's cup-tied. He played wide-right for Leeds when they got beat by Arsenal.
Poor form by Townsend.
Walker, Cauker, Naughton, Livermore etc have been farmed out way outside of London often enough. Tis the way it's gonna be for the kids now.
If Townsend cannot take this "rite of passage" , perhaps he doesn't want to be a Spurs player badly enough.
Carroll = the new Bale !!!
Watch him go when the sequence is broken.

Yes, I am inclined to take the same view.
I personally would rather go and play regularly than sit and watch the first team week in week out.
Wonder if there wasa bit more to it with Warnock than is being reported? He can be a bit "abrasive" in his dealings with players.
There probably was more to it geniusgreaves.
I realise that if Warnock had the choice between a Shaun Derry midfielder who is a wise old pro and who gets stuck in, and a ball playing footballer like Andros Townsend, then Warnock would choose Derry every time.
But this seemed to be a good loan move for Andros and whilst these things don't always work out, I am still left with the feeling that Townsend needs to take a look at himself over this one.

I am accepting of homesick etc, but he is not suffering solo. Other Spurs kids have gone thru it, and are yet to. This is how things are gonna be.
Tis not done for fun. There is real purpose behind it.
If a Spurs kid cannot see this, then perhaps their future lies elsewhere.
Guys.................................I agree that these youngsters need to understand that if the knuckle down and focus then they could be playing at the very top, either with us or another PL team.

Only wish I was in my teens again!!
More with Townsend at the thought that Caulker may not be recalled to the fold in the summer when he deserves to, while the likes of Townsend may be ing over a couple of Europa turnouts.
