He knows the situation at the club between us & papa & to some extent larry...he basically wants us to back him & the players, he is confident of delivering by the looks of things...its interesting to note that he says him & the players...no mention of papa !

There's 2 possibilities here,
1) NW knows that if he doesn't deliver what the fans expect then he knows they'll be on his back; and he's digging a little barrier for himself.
He's using tact to try and hit the sensitive spots of the supporters.
2) Bates has been in Warnocks ear'ole and NW has summised something, or, Bates has told NW what to say in order to get the fans of Bates back.
I mentioned in another previous post that I believe Bates moved quickly to try and quell the protests, which is he why he appointed Warnock, most fans choice.
Nudge Nudge, Wink Wink, say no more.
I'll bet Bates is after turning the attention away from him; this tells me Bates is feeling the pressure and knows what will happen down track should the protests continue on a regular basis.
Look at this way, should the protests stop now Warnocks here, then Bates will consider it a win for him and he'll be laughing all way to Bank.
Should they regularly continue, then Bates will continue to feel the pressure and will worry what's going to happen down track.
What will regular protests against Bates bring, media attention, supporter hatred, more media attention untill someone in the right position decides enough is enough, it's time for an investigation.
Bates also knows the Wolves and Vultures are circling, waiting to see if he gains promotion to PL, then they'll pounce and persecute him.
Anyone know when the final year is up for Bates to not owe any creditors? I think Jonty knows from memory.
Bates finally did what the fans wanted him to do, and thats the first time. As mentioned earlier, he did it to ease the pressure on himself as he saw over 5,000 fans not renewing season tickets and has seen gates fall by 3,000 each home game. Thats a lot of money to Bates and its the first time he's had to bow to fans pressure. Maybe he's starting to realise that without the goodwill of the fans, he's finsished.
With regard to Warnock, I'm chuffed he's here, but he's not got enough time to do anything this season now. Warnock will go 100% and try and do it, but shouldn't be blamed if he falls short. Warnock will have a clear out in the summer and next season we'll see a side able to go for it, and I also expect him to sort out the players contracts as well. he won't want to be here if the club carry on selling its best players, so watch this space.
I'm a Bates hater but have decided to keep quiet now, because Warnock is the best thing that could have happened under the circumstances. We shouldn't get on Warnocks back unless next seasons team isn't performing. This seasons team isn't he's its Graysons and he has little room for manouver.
According to various reports, Warnock has a get out clause at the end of the season.
It's a bit of a dilemma for the club.
Bates and Warnock know that there is very little chance of promotion this year, and that we should be focussing on a push next season. This means experimentation with youngsters and assessing all the squad players for the remainder of this season, and not bothering with any short-term loans.
However, Bates is also concerned about revenue with several 'big' home games remaining, and doesn't want to openly write off the season yet. The PR machine is already bigging up NW like he will transform the team overnight. If I was NW I'd be concerned that expectation on both him and the players will be unrealistic in the remaining games - and keen to avoid a backlash when these expectations are not met.
i don't think he'll go at the end of the season, but that would very depend on 2 things...our backing & papa's readies...
our backing & papa's readies
........
Yep.
We've not had a good conspiracy theory for a few days.....!
We still haven't.
Looks like it is a short term appointment anyway

I don't know i understand it in the same way I think it needs questioning, how many other managers do you know who have come out and started a career like this?
I think it's a Bates distraction to be honest, I don't even think our fans are that fickle that they'd expect Warnock to get promotion this season!!
Whiteoutloud although there is the newspaper article stating that, Warnock said he'd retire when he didn't enjoy football anymore.
Say if Colin gets us up next season, do you really think he wouldn't want to challenge himself to one more shot at the prem? He's not really the character to give up and accept his limits!
One thing that we all need to think about as being a big thing for Warnock, and especially for us is this:
1) Warnock wants to be in the record books for being the manager who was promoted most ever. Heknows that this record will never be beaten because of the way football is these days.
2) Warnock knows the club and the history and would admit to only ever dreaming about being manager of Leeds. He's going to finish his career at one of the biggest clubs in the UK.
3) He comes to us when we are at a low point in terms of league standing. He sees a lot of fans unrest and a squad thats not good enough for a club like ours. He wants to go down in history as the manager who got the club back to where it belongs, and he knows he has the chance to be a legend. Not in the same vein as Revie but just as important because 8-years of turmoil and frustration has been hard on fans.
He's going to be brilliant and I can't think of any manager better for doing this. He's the best man for the job of being our manager, because being realistic there's only a Harry or O'Neil who could maybe do better, but being realistic Colin is top man.

Should he get us promoted, I have no doubts that he will want to manage us in the prem.

It all seems a bit weird
But "allegedly" these are NWs own words and not to do with enjoying football, but with the recent death of Doughty.
