4th place for me. Sad but true.
winning carling cup is better but these days its all about money.
Teams at the bottom of the league rest teams in fa cup and carling cup. Beofre it was the top sides vs the bottom teams first team. Now most teams do it.
Another way to look at it, what would you rather have as a player a carling cup or be someone is forgotten for participating in the cl and going nowhere.
4th place by a country mile
No top teams take the CC seriously
4th place doesn't guarantee CL though does it? The playoffs may not always be won and then you'll have to suffer Europa life which is what the Carling Cup gets you if you win it.
No top teams take the CC seriously
Unless their playing noisy neighbours of course

Indeed. But the fact it's a CC game is purely incidental. Same with Liverpool
Top teams will play their reserves in the CC cup. Onyl smll clubs like Liverpool car about it.
4th place rules.
Wow! A fine lady walked by just when i wrote the previous post, explaining the look!
We missed out on the 4th place trophy by coming third
It was a real sickener
Will arsenal manage to retain their trophy?
Man City have never won the league
i've added a vote guys so feel free to register you opinion in the medium of shiny s

Huh?
It was fairly apparent quite a way out that the title was more tgan likely going to Manchester so plenty of other teams should have been taking both cups very seriously.Makes no sense for teams like newcastle or stoke to play weakened teams

City took it seriously, Chelsea took it seriously and if United had drawn a bigger team than Palace, you can bet your life they'd have put a better team out.
That said, 4th place all the way.

Mate
Even in the FA cup we play weaker sides
We played with 7 defenders against Arsenal last season in the FA Cup and what about the reserve side SAF put out in the FA Cup semi final v Everton?
United don't take the competition seriously and neither do you when you're in Europe.

I predicted at the start that Liverpool would win a cup this season with having no European football to worry about.
