It's a great marketing job - get as many signed up before we know our ' fate '!

Not so sure that it bodes well though, given that the offer ends on April Fool's Day!

Yeah I was surprised to get this lot in the post today too. It included a form for donating for Nat's statue. Really have to say I think the club should be paying for the majority of it.

In no way shape or form could they have justified an increase.

With the state of the economy, reductions in corporation tax, wage freezes and economists split as whether we are heading for another recession (2 quarters of negative growth) or not, they could not justify an increase.

In the Prem our home core of fans is around 20/21k with a bit of variance for game pickers. If we go down I would imagine a fall to around 15/16k, but is normal for any relegated club.

I'll be renewing regardless as it's not just about football for me. I get to see some friends and my brother every couple of weeks when I otherwise wouldn't see them very often.

In our favour, if we go down, there will be no more internet streams for fans to watch our homegames, so might show a slight positive on attendance.

I actually thought that at first, but thinking about it...it may be the club trying to do the fans a favour.

offering a longer 'term' on the 'loan' means more payments but the payments are significantly smaller - making them more affordable to more people on smaller incomes. I pay for mine outright as I can afford too...some people cant, this just makes season tickets more accessible.

I also think that the direct debit per month works out less (or almost if your not a north-stander) than going to see 1 cat A game a month...that's a bargain!

for many fans like me, going to the match is just something we 'do' so relegation wont come in to the decision to buy a season ticket, I could whine just as much (if not more as we would have 4 more games ) in the championship as i can in the prem...maybe less actually as we would most probably win more games!

Unfortunately, I won't be renewing my season ticket after 3 years of attending. My circumstances have changed with Uni placements and work. I feel quite sad about that as it will also coincide with less contributing on here, due to not watching games live, etc etc.

Having said that, I think its great that the club have frozen the prices.

Can someone who has had a season ticket continuously over the last 7 years+ please explain this statement from the season ticket pack for me?

"Season ticket prices have been frozen for the fourth consecutive season which means that Wanderers supporters have not seen a price rise in season tickets for an unbelievable SEVEN seasons."

Logically that statement is absurd.

posted on 24/2/12

I think what it means largehat is that for the other 3 seasons out of the 7, there have been price cuts.

I could be wrong, ive had a season ticket for longer than 7 years and I think I remember them not increasing prices provided you paid the full amount (before d/d was introduced, they had a 'with interest' finance thing in place I think) before a deadline that was pretty early in the season then it was the same price as your last one...

does that make sense?

Take it they mean 7 years, and haven't included 2013, just in case they have to increase 'em next year (for the 2013/14 season).

You're probably right ....but it wouldn't have cost 'em anything to give folk until 1st June to make their minds up .... except by then, people might be in a position to expect a price CUT, never mind a freeze, if they're only going to be watching games against 2nd tier opposition!

Ah ..the life of a cynic is such a burden at times ...

I think Bricks is probably right with the price cuts. You'd think they would say instead "For the last 6 years we have implemented price cuts or freezes". It sounds more impressive and it gives you the facts.

There were price cuts for 3 consecutive years I think... Could be wrong though.

I think it's a tremendous offer from the club and shows they are keen to keep upping the numbers..

BUT then, they had to...

Many many home defeats and uncertainty which league we will be in....

The club knows it had to do right with the fans, and to be fair to them... They have..

Firtstof, look at the positives, 1. We won't be relegated. 2. Even if we are, which we won't be, there would be more games for the same price.

I've seen relegation and promotion in the past and to be honest the next tier down can be very exciting, more wins and the prospect of promotion. All we have to look forward to in the Prem is staying there. We aint going to win the league.

Having said that I hope we stay up. I think that next season will be very interesting once we get rid of all the dead wood and hopefully bring in a few new players and promote some of the young reserves. I'm looking forward to next season and if by some unforseen reason we end up in the Championship, so be it..

SWIE

The excitement of relegation and the unknown will be replaced with a smack in the nose when Doris the tea lady and 75% of our squad is released or sold and we don't open upper tiers on 3 sides....

The debt makes this different to the years of ups and downs you talk about..

Yes wigan will be in much better shape than us if we are relegated. The vultures are already circling on our prize assets and there is no way that will go back on players. To win the fizzy pop is an ask both financially and with playing staff. A load of unknown kids and a barebones squad won't be the enjoyable ride. Add to that mallorcas comment about the place being empty bar the odd game sorry but I could not be as blasé as so be it about relegation. Add to that the fact that if you fail in the top flight as a manager once it is rare that you ever cut the mustard as mcarthy and others have shown. (if anyone can find a manager who has proved this wrong am happy to take it back) you are never good enough. Therefore would you want coyle to take us back up?

Wigans TV income is 82% of their revenue, if they go down they won't come up that's one thing that is without doubt. They will fall away.

What will happen to the club of we go down is a dark area, however with all the debt being to ED atleast we won't have anyone calling in the debt. However the debt itself will lead to troubles in terms of us being sol in the future..

I personally believe we will stay up, Wolves are a mess and hve a tough run in, Blackburn have Kay sold their captain and best player, and Wigan have for the most part lacked quality.

Call me optimistic, but I think we will stay up, Miyachi and Ream look like good acquisitions so far and hopefully they can stay in the team and play to a better more consistent standard can previous players.

Not saying we won't stay up but it looks ominous unless our new accusitions make a difference.

Why does it matter (when it comes to season ticke renewal) which division we are in next year?

You wouldn't expect premium unleaded petrol to be the same price as bog standard unleaded, so why should you expect to pay Premiership football prices for Chanmpionship football, if we go down? Applies to any team, not just Bolton ...

You're right of course But let's hope we don't have to consider that ' trade-off ' of quantity over quality LH! ...though I'm thinkin' this season is our swansong in the Prem, TBH ....

Unlike when we were robbed v Everton in the 97/98 season, if we go down this time, it will definitely be because we deserve it.
