He played really well in defence . He is constantly a yard or so behind the play, we got mugged with that 35m fee. Thankfully the fee was paid for as a result of mugging Chelsea. Going forward I do not see where he fits in? Does KD have the bottle to realise this and take a big loss on the player.
Well I think you missed the part where he put Kenny Miller off which pretty much won us the match
agreed, the guy played really well ....in defence, not really where i want our 35 million pound centre forward to be but as you say the guy did enough to put miller off. but in his general forward play he was slow, lethargic and sometimes even lazy

That Suarez chance was weird. He was hanging about on the edge of the area like he was expecting the ball to go out. Kuyt would have followed that in, for sure.
They put a lot of men behind the ball and before Bellers came on Carroll just spent a lot of time getting heavily marked. He did drag defenders away for Skrtels goal though.
Championship teams are used to playing against lump strikers. We should have started with Kuyt.
PS Totally forgot about the Miller challenge. Hands up. He did what needed to be done there.

Carroll did work hard but he isn't on Luis' wavelength. There were quite a few passes where Carroll went one way and Luis passed it the other. The more they play together the better that will get.
What Luis has to remember is that Carroll is left footed, so would prefer the ball in the alternate position.
Carroll always seems reluctant to make runs towards the near post. You rarely see him making a movement to get in-front of his marker.
This is very basic stuff and it worries me that a lot of the time he appears on his heals when the ball is delivered into the box. His movement and positioning are area's he desperately needs to improve
He did win the header which subsequently created Skrtels goal people!!
Aside frm that yes agree he is always ball watching.
However thought his general play was much improved again yesterday...He is improving. Somewhat slowly though.
