It's to make the FA extra money really.
It's to let small clubs like Liverpool get trophies.
The higher up the leagues you go, the less relevence the League Cup has. The FA Cup is special in the sense that every professional team in the country competes in it.
The real question isn't doubting the legitimate nature of the League Cup, but rather it's shared existance with the St Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Only one has a place really.
As a Chelsea fan I thought you'd appreciate what it means to win the Carling Cup. Mourinho went all out to win that trophy, as it was the first of his trophies under the Abramovich era and the first trophy you';d won in 5 years.
It builds a winning mentality. It gives you a taste to win more. You then went on and won many more titles. We won't win the league like you did then, but we have a good chance of the FA Cup, and it might spur us on to make a late charge for the top 4.
It is the lesser of the cups but its still a cup nonetheless.
I don't know, Fernando might have enjoyed wining it with us yesterday, but of course he left to win things with Ch.av$ki.

How's that seven year dry spell going for you?
I know it disappointing that we won, as now you don't have the "well Liverpool haven't won anything for 6 years either" comeback.

yep, i'm sure he's crying over that right now

I think you´ll find that Fernando prefers winning World Cups and European Championships over the League Cup.

Both of which he did when he was a Liverpool player. Now he's at Chelsea he can't even get into the Spain squad.

There there, play nice now
I think Torres is desperate to win a domestic trophy with a club in England, how's that workin for him? What's the tally up to so far? And will he ever score more goals for Chelsea than he has against them? Watch this space........
Eh, why is it that when Spurs shut up for at least 48 hours, the scousers start singing? The most bitter fans in football.

No idea why there's two domestic cups. Its annoying. In Spain they only have one, same in Italy. Why have two over here?

Romans going to need to brush up on his team selection.
Just to clear something up, you scousers know we're still in the FA Cup right??? With Leicester waiting in the 6th round if we get past Birmingham.

While Liverpool, Spurs and Everton are still in the competition, I don't see Chelsea winning it.
lol for gods sake. im not belittling it because liverpool won <doh.
its just a pointless interruption in an already jam packed season. the fa cup, cl, europa league and premier league is more than enough.
You Liverpool fans do realise you've not won the league in almost 22 years
Surely Chelsea need all the chances going to win a trophy?
