andy gray.

we are absolutely miles ahead of you, and to think about three or four seasons ago we were fighting relegation and you were going for champions league.

dont worry lads i will be at villa park for villa spurs this season for the last time in a good while. next season you will be playing charlton and derby county.

5-2 Chronic, reflect on that.......

You are on the slide and we will hopefully survive as you would think at least three of the one's below us will go down.

Just avoiding relegation for us, Europa for you, with what has happened at Villa this last 18 months I accept that's all we could hope for, deluded Tottenham Fans will be disappointed again.

If I could just break up this Villa/Spurs love-in for a minute...

If Villa were to survive this season, should McLeish be given another season to prove himself?

yeah course we are on the slide.. the week before we smashed newcastle 5-0

you wont be surviving anything as you have noone that can score you goals now that Bent is out.

The best you can hope for is the Zog to step up and keep you up like he did for Wigan but Mcliesh takes away all his attacking fizz.

will you be keeping Mcliesh as manager next season when you try to climb your way out of the championship?

maybe its a claret and blue thing. you, burnley, and wet shaambles united will all be in the same division

Probably should be given a go lexington.

But I think a lot will depend on how he deals with the position we are in now and the sides he selects.

Chronic, deluded

I really don't know why Randy Lerner didn't try to get someone like Martin Jol in to replace Mcleish.

Jol is too good for Fulham.

yep but although struggling at QPR should have been Hughes.

I can't stand Hughes either though!

No he isn't too good for Fulham. Look at their team. Very good underrated team

I meant the club rather than the team, Andy.

In that case he should leave Fulham for Nottingham Forest

True carrot

shhhhh... I've got a soft spot for Forest.

Looking grim for them this season though.

Just checked... seems Forest are on the up! 3 points clear of 3rd bottom Coventry, with a game in hand.

Last time I looked, they were second bottom.

Going back to the original post, it's blatantly correct, Villa are well in the relegation race at the moment.

40 points looks at present more than enough to survive, so Sunderland down in with a chance.

But teams at bottom a long way adrift, and although this can change quickly over five or six games, it doesn't seem likely the way they are gaining points.

Who knows, at least its interesting

11pts from 12 games then?

Could be interesting indeed.

Worried, but if we don't get 10 from 12 games with the goal difference, then we deserve to go

If we continue aiming for a point/ game then we definitely deserve to give up our premier league place. There are teams in lower divisions who play more attractive football and fight hard for the opportunity to be in the premiership.

I think that relegation would force RL to acknowledge that Villa are in a crisis with Eck in charge
