I deleted a comment by the OP following a complaint, which on reflection was a bit harsh, especially given the context of the article being posted on.

In fact, after considering what the content of the article insinuated and how it had been tagged, I decided just to remove the whole thread.

I believe the OP is a Liverpool fan who had a genuine gripe with the way I moderated his comment, but we would prefer this kind of discussion happen via our e-mail address which can be found on our landing page.

As for the 'derailing' comments, I'm fairly unimpressed with some of them.

As an aside Admin2 and I probably deal with or ignore 40+ emails per day. It is normally depending on how busy we are and whether the user is emailing is banned. In our less than infinite wisdom we will no doubt moderate content that shouldn't have been. Admin2 was dealing with multiple complaints per hour from 5am yesterday till about 2am this morning. Between the two of us we have processed around 10,000 complaints, working 7 days per week since launch. As annoying as it may be, we need people to accept that we may delete stuff in error or not in error but in opposition to the wishes of the person that posted the moderated comment. At half past midnight long after the old 606 forum would have closed I struggle to keep my eyes open let alone watch some Spanish TV ad, read through a few dozen comments to get a handle on things whilst complaints are popping up in our alert systems then make correct moderation decisions that keep both the posters and the complainers happy....

Please keep that sequence of events in mind.
