He's improving every year. Yes, he's not a world beater (he may or may well not be in the future), but when he's on it, he's pretty awesome.

You say that his "one skill" is running in behind and finishing, but that's the kind of thing we lack from anyone else. No other striker we have is quick enough to destroy defenders for pace, and his excellent finishing gets us a few goals.

To be fair, I would like to see him deployed as a striker, but until we get some proper wide options, that won't happen. Enter Gervinho?

he is an average player who just so happens to be able to move quicker than the average player

For me personally, he is still the most frustrating player to watch.

For me he is the most I want to watch. I don't understand many of our fans hating him. You love him when he scores and complain when performs poor. the problem lies not with him mate. with the whole system.

With arshavin its annoying because its like watching someone trying to play with half a lung, but at least he is very skillfull

I think he is a decent player.

Never gonna set the world alight but a good player to have. One thing I will say is he has a good work rate, doesn't give up and has scored a few goals for us.

He is and never was going to be the new T. Henry (which is what I had hoped).

It's probably his best asset and he has definitely improved in utilising it better over the last few years.

When you have a team like barca saying he is the one player they are truly scared of prior to a game, you know he is someone you don't want to let go.

Well said. He's finished the season on 13 goals and 10 assists and missed a good third of the season through injury. He works hard, has improved and will improve more. The entire football world is afraid of playing the kid now and he's getting better. It's all good where Theo's concerned and any critics at this point, are just being short sighted. Wenger will move him into the centre of the pitch and play him as a stiker just as he did with Henry. I still see greatness on the cards for Theo. Though crafted as a player by Wenger in the same manner as Titi...Theo is not going to be "The next Thierry Henry." He'll be "The first Theo Walcott."

Go and ask barca if he's a good player. The boy has had the most difficult start to a career in football history, got taken to a world cup he wasn't ready for before he had played a game in the prem then didn't feature, this only hyped him up more than he was already. Then got dropped from the next world cup and then capello admitted he should of come. Walcotts stats are better than the best player to have ever played at the san siro gareth bale and he has had more pressure on him at the age of 16 than any other player in england. Also i fail to see the validity of this argument he only uses his pace. He is incredibly quick and can beat any defender by poking the ball past and running, what exactly is wrong with using his best asset regularly? Look at owen and hernandez they both rely on pace and positioning rather than technical ability. I think if he played up front with RVP he could get 20 goals and i think even from the wing with an injury free season he would get 15

Yes but you do realise that most of the time he uses his pace to do nothing but run up blind alleys and give the ball away? Of course his stats are good, hes good at one on ones and he has excellent teammates to play him through on goal, this doesnt change the fact he is a headless chicken with a rubbish touch.

As for playing in the middle, i just dont see that, he has not got the required ability to play there. Out on the wing we can utilise his pace and thankfully keep him relatively uninvolved in the game, what a nightmare it would be to have walcott in the middle ruining our attacks
