I actually agree Concerned Evertonian.

When some reds were on about buying Bent in Jan I said Yakubu is just as good and probably a quarter of the price, not that I really wanted him either.

I suspect the derby will follow the same pattern. We will have loads of the ball and miss chances, you will score from a set piece and it will be a draw.

Can you be at Finch Farm for 9am Monday?

Barca, City, United, Real Madrid.

1) Can we offer the same success, same level of football, same trasfer fee and the same personal terms as any of the above?

2) What do we have that makes Liverpool the MOST attractive destination for a lad at the peak of his career?

Until we can honestly answer "yes" to number 1; or market our answer to number 2 convincingly enough to make no. 1 insignificant, there will be no world class signing.

Yakubu has scored 13 league goals this season.

For Blackburn.

We can forget the likes of Cavani now with top for unlikely.

On the brightside we had ab engineroom performance from our midfield and controled the whole match. Spearing was superb.

We will need to find our goalscorers where the clubs with CL football arnt looking.

It's a bit of a pickle.

righteous,he wasn`t even a quarter of the price.

£1 and a half million Everton sold him for.

Agreed beers, its time we spent any monies properly.

Personally i can't see us competing tenaciously in the summer market.

I hope i'm wrong.

What defines a "world class manager"?

Champions league qualification as an a absolute minimum

When Kenny becomes available as a manager again, will there be a big clamour by other clubs to try and appoint him?
No, exactly.

You can hardly include the word "exactly" when attempting to predict the future.

Is that how you would define a world class manager? A lot of job offers from other clubs?

posted on 3/3/12

Do you think he's doing a world class job then?

posted on 3/3/12

Steve Bruce gets loads of job offers.

Doesn't stop him being rubbish.

Trophies in the last 6 seasons: Kenny 1 - Wenger 0.

Exactly.

You state he isn't a world class manager. I'm intrigued to find out the criteria for meeting your definition.

As for doing a world class job, put it this way; 12 months ago you tell me:

"this time next year you will be in the same league position, but frustrated at being there. You will have guaranteed European football the season after, you will have won your first trophy in 6yrs & you will have knocked out the eventual league champions and runners up to reach the quarter final of the fa cup". I wouldn't care who the manager is, I'd say if thats the next 12 months for my club, keep him.

Kenny will really be judged in 12 months time.

I expect us to spend some more cash in the summer, and on the back of it, top 4 won't be the hope, but the expectation.

Of course, if we don't spend more cash in the summer , then nobody has any right to expect top 4.
