I do not wish that the Celtic supporters on radio-phone ins, be representative of the whole Celtic support.
I agree with you.
Well said Opt.
Too many let Rangers die types appearing and taking the fun out of football banter.
Nice one Henrik.
Always pays to keep it friendly.
i personally think that if celtic were thinking right they might extend the hand of friendship to rangers in their hour of need. some king of gesture of friendship at this time could ease the tension between the two clubs for years to come, perhaps stop countless sectarian assaults and reaffirm the clubs charitable traditions.
I agree
I've been quite quiet about it other than at the playing staff. My wife's friend is a worker at Ibrox and could be in the firing line.
Optimus, that is never going to happen!
i know henrick. but if you cant extend the hand of friendship to your greatest enemy/rival in their hour of need then we should just acknowledge that the clubs catholic/charitable traditions are pure window dressing and totally lacking in substance. what would Tommy Burns do?
I don't think they would be lacking in substance, but Celtic's main objective is to be a football club. The club would be cheating its own supporters if they gave their greatest rivals an option out. It may not be the "Catholic" thing to do, but Celtic is not a Catholic club. It is for all.
Celtic are still give to a number of charities, as do many other football clubs including Rangers.
However, Rangers are not a charity, they are a football club that has lived beyond its means. Yes, there will be job losses which is a terrible thing, but under David Cameron there are job losses across Scotland everyday unfortunately.
Henrick - thats fair comment but the fact is the better competition that celtic face the better the team on the park will have to be. Isnt that why the fans want to move to the EPL so the team can prosper on the field? The logical conclusion from that is the less competition the weaker the team on the park will be. So its not about giving Rangers an 'option out' but more about self preservation.
Henrik and Optimus
I cannot imagine Rangers wanting anything from Celtic and vice versa.A wee bit of respect each way and friendly rivalry,as opposed to bile, will suffice.
Collections at Mass or Orange walks for each other........maybe give that idea a miss too.
Perhaps, but I doubt some supporters would ever forgive the Celtic Board if that were to happen.
The person Rangers should be getting money from is the man who claimed he was a "self-made billionaire with wealth off the radar". He has so far got away with daylight robbery. As punishment for his crimes (if he is proved guilty) everything he owns should be given to the tax payer and Rangers.
Henrik, that's a bit harsh on Mr. Murray.

Lubo, only thing I disagree with is:"...are there to showcase a variety of views."
They showcase the lunatic fringe, because that gets folk talking and tuning in.
Really listen and you'll notice that if the guy is rational and intelligent they get rid ASAP.
lubo - we all know rangers history and the fact that they have never publicly apologised or distanced themselves from it in any unambiguous way does stick in the craw. That imo is a completely justified pov. But this is a once in a century opportunity and if we could grasp it in the right way I believe we could do untold good to our society for generations to come. We just have to learn to forgive if not forget.

O.P., you're never going to shut up the fringes, and your idea is commendable. However what is it we are forgiving? Do you think Rangers fans want "our" forgiveness? As far as a lot of them on here are concerned they are lily whYte<2X until proven otherwise.

queb - as you say you will never shut the lunatic fringe up. but if you can find a way to push the fringe further from the centre then it makes us all a wee bit safer.

lubo - thanks for your generous words.
"got to say I have been very disappointed with the endless stream of bhoys queueing up to stick the boot into RFC."
---ooo---
Please refer to smug, laughing rangers fans when Celtic were 1 hour from being declared Bankrupt.
Dry your eyes and take your medicine.
Zico - but I have no wish to be like them. Do you?
No wish to be like what?
It's called Karma - Rangers fans had 'Celtic Death Parties' in 1994. The Press had R.I.P Celtic, Thombstones and hired Hearses.
There was no call back then for Celtic to survive, no sympathy, no outcry - and we hadn't cheated or dodged taxes.
