Ive have never been convinced by Nani and got slated by many at the start of the season for having Valencia and Young as my wingers in a "best eleven" thread.

In fairness I had Fletcher and Anderson in CM so what do I know?

Believe me devil, I have been giving him the criticism he deserves. Needs to get back to the basics and get his overinflated ego in check!

Lol diggler. Anderson at top form would be in my strongest midfield, alongside Carrick.

Evans MOTM for me

Nani was dreadful and has been since November. Watch the guy play. It is embarrassing! Young actually wasn't great today in spite of his impressive statistics. But at least he tries to do the right thing. Nani is a guy I constantly criticise, simply because he deserves it. Needs to grow up and lose a completely unjustified ego.

nani set up the goal when he got the chance. how can you slate nani for not doing anything but praise young? young would not have scored that goal without nani.

in general play both were average.
==========

But Young secured 3 points for his team while Nani did the usual disappearing act.

Look, I love everyone who puts on a Utd shirt and will criticise them when they haven't played well.

I do this to every player. There are no sacred cows. Some of you have favourites and even when they play rubbish, you do not criticise them. It displays a lack of balance in your opinions and makes anything you say lack merit because of the bias.

Nani has been poor for ages and I can't wait for Valencia to return to full fitness

Young the MOTM, then DeGea and Ferdinand. On the flip side, Danny Welbeck and Luis Nani, the big holes on the team.

Nani has been poor for a long time, the game against Basel was his last good match.

Welbeck has also been poor.

I think Nani performs better with Hernandez in the team. Hernandez makes so many runs in behind and Nani often likes to chip or wip the ball in early in front of the defence.

It's a shame that Hernandez doesn't have the hold up or link up play that Welbeck does. Imagine how good he'd be then?

I was thinking the other day if you were to take the pace, movement, heading and finishing of Hernandez, and morph him with the technique, strength, hold up/link up play and passing of Berbatov, you'd have the most complete striker in the world.

Then I realised, I have just described Cristiano Ronaldo. Who has just scored his 30th league goal. Come back to United!

Hehe. What a lovely ending to your post. :P

And yes, welbeck has been poor. The key difference for me is one of attitude. This could just be me, but when I red Nani play, I see a guy obsessed with trying to show how good he is. He gets the ball in space and yet runs towards an opponent, in an effort to show how he can beat him. I have 2 problems with that:

1. He almost without fail loses possession as he isn't capable of beating a man he didn't need to take on to begin with.

2. He should be playing for the team, not himself!

Bad form is excusable. Self inflicted embarrassment, due to your own over indulgence is not! Just my opinion.

Glad to see Anderson made the bench today. I still like think that one day he'll come good.

de gea has benefited from linergards injury. Not looking over his shoulder has benefited his confidence.

Agree 100% whiteside. Never wish an injury upon any player. But there was too much tinkering in the goalkeeping department for my liking and that little side issue isn't around any longer. Definitely benefited de gea!

I have been v disapointed with welbeck in the past month. Very sad to see berbatov not even in the squad today.

posted on 4/3/12

Not a Berb fan tbh. When the going gets tough, he usually disappears. He just bottles it when it matters most. Yes, he was brilliant against Liverpool last season, but sadly that was the exception, not the rule.

How about Bolton goal in the last minute or the goal against Blackpool away to win us the match. Berba has not been given the chance this season. He appears to be on his way out. As far as I can see, Berba will not be making even the subs bench from now until the end of season, unless injuries occur, similarly the way Tevez was omitted from the squad in his last months with us.

There is a reason he doesn't make the squad. For every hattrick he scores, we have un endure 5 games without a goal and countless withering looks at teammates who, by and large, are contributing a lot more than the ""languid" Bulgarian. It's easy to remember his infrequent good performances. His regular ineffective ones are easily forgotten though by many fans. Thankfully the manager isn't fooled and hasn't forgotten his but semi "performance" last season, amongst many other times he couldn't be counted upon.

I just wish the lad gets some luck with injuries. The same thing every season. Lets hope its something to do with growing as he's 23.

I really believe in the lad and at the start of the season he was on fire. Let's hope he returns to full fitness and can have a season without injury. Would be extremely beneficial

Oh dear

You cannot do a 'Young Kak' article again so it's back to Carrick who played excellent all game aside from a couple of lax passes in the fist half

Why do you pretend to be a United fan? It's pathetic

whats a 'Young Kak' article?

"Carrick who played all game"

But he didn't though did he… In fact the only players who can come close to that accolade are De Gea and possibly Ferdinand.

We were a mess for the first 55 mins, even Fergie come out a said he got it all wrong, tactically, in the first half.

Fortunately Spurs yet again folded under the pressure, and we at long last, started to bag our chances.

Though I’m sure we'd have been on the wrong side of the result had Bale and Parker not been injured, they would have torn Carrick a new one.
