I think you have the wrong question.
The question should be, surely Conor Wickham can get a better club than Sunderland?

Better club? Like whom? I can't think why a bigger club would take a risk on an unproven second division striker.
was Jordan Henderson worth 20million?
soon as ipswich knew that sunderland pocketed 20m from henderson they upped the price
its called good business
Could be a great bit of business as if Wickham proves his potential at Sunderland, imagine how much he will be worth when hes 22, could be bought for £35 mill plus and Sunderland would make a tidy profit not to mention have a decent striker for a few years.
Imagine what happens if he turns out to be the next David Nugent?
Anyone who has that they support Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool & Man City isn't worthy of having a football opinion...
A gamble but its worth taking 35 million to spend from bent/henderson. 8 million worth a try. I remember kenny dalglish getting slaughtered for paying 3.3 million for a young alan shearer who had 23 goals in 118 games from soton.
possibly a decent signing... not that much financial expense and effectively bought by liverpool after you mugged them off on the henderson price... and he might hit it off..... but i personally dont think he will be up to much in the prem and am pleased that spurs decided to look elsewhere for a striking options
Overseas attacker like Bebe or Obertan?
The intellectually challenged 'Manyoo Mancees' isn't very bright, but he is a good laugh, isn't he . . . . and 'Striker' is of the same mould
I`m really pleased Sunderland have got Wickham instead of Liverpool. But have noticed the media snobbery in this move and asking why would he go to Sunderland instead of Liverpool. Good on the lad I say, he wants to play first team football and not be stuck on the bench all season. Good luck to him.
When a young player of this calibre is noticed by everybody, the top clubs ( which obviously includes Liverpool ) are bound to be mentioned
Sunderland are at the level below being one of the 'top' clubs, and it seems that young Connor is already an exciting player, with massive potential
The media, who generally don't believe in publishing accurately, need a story . . . . and question 'why ?' fills columns in papers
Personally, I don't care 'cos S.A.F.C. are looking towards challenging the likes of Liverpool, and that concerns them

If he fulfils the potential which many experts are saying he has, he could either prove to be the driving force to propel Sunderland to a higher level, or alternatively be sold on for a huge profit a few years down the line. Either way, it seems a good bit of business to me.
Let's hope the 'propellor' bit works, Al

Hey, this Manyoo character is a little bit too obsessed with us for my liking....I wonder why?
Not obsessed at all. I just like Steve Bruce
Its a lot of money for someone with a average Championship Goal record.
Then again he is young and its all about spotting tallent that is not shown in goals alone.
Some Strikers take longer to mature before they start to score.
But £8M+ addons is a very risky gamble IMO

On 2nd look and looking beyond total goals in total games.
Looking at this season gone League only and the season before.
Seems he is improving and young and maybe Bruce and his Scouts can see a finished article in him at some point in the future.
As Andy Carroll had done nothing special state wise untill the 2009/10 season, before then he was learning.

If you dont like it well its tough, you can run to the mods and get me banned for it if thats the case!
I may think Manyoo is a silly name to have and why dont you use your own...
But i dont its up to you what you put, so why jump on me
If you really care to look at what i put and not just label me from one post you will know i am a honest poster who does not disrespect others and who does not WUM.
I simply thought that £8M+ is a big gamble, as the guy is not that proven, his record is not one of a £3M Championship Top Striker let alone more.
But as i said he is young and only those who have watched him play and in training can spot the potential tallent he has, they are the pros not me
And as i pointed out that had someone paid even £8M for Andy Carroll prior to his Wonder Championship 2009/10 season, again you would think they was a bit nuts.
So we do not know if like Carroll that Wickham would come good

Gamble's are sometimes very worthwhile . . . . and you've sometimes got to take them
He's not a gamble at all.If I was a Sunderland fan I'd be over the moon. He's gonna be a top player,I don't think there is any doubt about that. When you look at stupid prices being paid for what turn out to be very average foreigners I think it's a good deal.Well done to Bruce for persuading him to join Sunderland over Liverpool but I'll be honest, being a Boro fan I hope he turns out to be a monumental failure.
