Would be best to have a L.O.I./I.L. final .Agreed about Derry, they'll deffo win a trophy this season, despite losing their manager/ key players. The Rebel Army Of Langers also have a great chance of throwing something in their bare trophy cabinet .
Here's to a competitive domestic football season ,but the sun still rises n sets on the Southside of Dublin.
U11421 Either of Shamrock or Sligo Rovers to win it. €150,00 prize money as well isn't it for the winners.
Not a bad bit of money for only having to play 4 matches!!
And another point why not have a bigger cup competition for all the clubs on this island.
All Airticity and IPL clubs!!
Like the sound of it B,I,G, , but the logistics of it, date-wise, plusthe added expenses to smaller clubs would be a problem, leaving aside the political shtuff.
Off topic i know, but i got a chuckle out of your Percy French reference on another thread.I had an uncle who'd break into that at the drop of a hat, and him a Dunmore man, a very nice place.
Took me a while to think that one up in fairness!!
To get over the logistics we could have the early rounds on a regional basis . I mean they already have an All Ireland league and cup in Rugby already. Clonakilty Rugby club way down in the South of Cork often have to travel up North for matches!!
Good point , and i'm sure, being Cork folk, the good people of Clonakilty let anyone in earshot know how great they are to be travelling ,, de lengthn breadth ah de country boy, deewww knoooww liike.
Was at Windsor last night and agreed with the Derry City manager that they were very fortunate to escape with a draw.
Was a very decent game and a 2-0 scoreline wouldn't have flattered us
Difficult 2nd leg but dont count us out just yet.
The Crues were unlucky too reading the match reports.
Shamrock Rovers will win it.
Great to see Derry City back challenging for the Setanta Cup considering they were demoted to the Airtricity 1st Divison only a few years ago Earl
They are looking in good shape both on and off the pitch
I've always said as long the fans don't desert their club theres always hope. Most of the League of Ireland clubs who were tipped to go to the wall in recent years have all bounce back Sham Rvs,Shelbourne and Cork City .
All of them have a good fan base. There could be hope for Rangers yet
That was desperate carry on at The Showgrounds.Feel very bad for the visiting fans, a good hiding for those eejits is what's reqiured.Dragging down the good name of Sligo and the rest of the L.O.I..
What happened at the Showgrounds!! Was there crowd trouble?
sligos a rough enough town...
not suprised at all what happened.....
