If it's £1m+, and cash up front (not just some worthless IOU's from uncreditworthy individuals) I can see the logic in taking the money...
Depends if Sam actually wants to risk moving to a small-time yoyo club in Cambridgeshire that's odds-on for another relegation straight back down again next season, though.
What would you rather have, if you were Sam?
A pay rise and stiffer competition, but scoring fewer goals in a season-long relegation struggle in front of a fickle few thousand moaners still mourning the loss of CMS in an old shed in the fens?
or
Scoring more goals for fun in a season-long promotion challenge in front of ten thousand or so adoring fans celebrating you becoming the league's top scorer in stadium MK?
Hmmm....
if it is the reported fee of £1.2 million, i'd be happy for him to leave. Although it would be a loss, it wouldnt be as bad as losing someone like gleeson, whom i see playing a key role for us next season. I'd also hope that winkelman would use some of the cash to be spent on new players, but also maybe put a wedge into the academy, as our local young talent is immence.
guys i did say earlier but no one believed me but... anyway just read on twitter Peterborugh have withdrawn their offer is this true, maybe Benni Mccarthey isn't going to come down after all , and by the way the fee is £1.2 million with add ons if he either represents England or plays in the Premiership and a 20% sell on fee
guys official news is that Baldock has rejected the move!

this really shows how much he loves the club
That just made my day mkdons1!! cheers
I think the conversation went:
Baby Fergie; "Sammy we want to to sign for Peterborough, we'll give you more money"
Sam: "Okay, that would be nice, but just so you know, I won't be available most Saturdays and some weekdays because i pay football for MK Dons"
Baby Fergie: "No Sam, we want you to play for us"
Sam: "Ha Ha, good one, you are much funnier than your dad, now b*gger off I'm in training"
Baby Fergie sobbing to McAntony: "He said laughed at me, well if he doesn't want to come, I don't want to spend the money on him, boo hoo, nobody loves us, I want my daddy"
Hmmm...
I like £1.2m.
And I like Sam Baldock.
But which is best? There's only one way to find out...
PUFC = Big club syndrome. Hopefully sammy can put his injuries behind him and play a full season and show us what he's made of. massive respect for the loyalty though.
I was netural in the situation but according to the MKN, Robbo had a big player lined up that'd 'entertain the fans' so I' take that over mini-Michael..
he'll have a decent season and leave for nothing at the end of the season, good business?????
Yes, he has pulled out...http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13962240.stm
Glad Sammy is staying and hope this inspires him to do even better. God they seem an ignorant lot and egos as big as balloons which need to be busted.
Peterboros web site says that they have withdrawn the offer...........its another way of saying a player doesnt want to join them
... it's another way of saying that he wasn't worth the money
Unlike what they said a few hours before.
... it's another way of saying that he wasn't worth the money, a few hours later
Should we wait another few hours in case Fergie tops up his tan and changes his mind again? More likely MacAnthony needs the money for his legal bills.
What are Winkleman's lawyers charging him these days?
I had the pain from Spain (and maybe the USA) more in mind.
I hear that Winkelman's global
You've got that eye twitch
All sites say that the offer was withdrawn, Obviously he wasn't up to standard, and taking into consideration where he is plying his trade at the moment, of dubious pedigree.
Be gentle with him, his world is obviously in tatters at the moment, but I'm sure he'll be OK for the start of another consolidation season for you,
Best thing that could have happened to Sam and a big motivation for this season. It only some who can say they have escaped the machinations of the unholy trinity.
