Charlton's 7th and 8th signings!! Signs of an ambitious club who's aim is to get out of this miserable league!!
Come on Meggo....get your finger out!
oh well
i'm sure Meggo wasn't that bothered, otherwise he'd have made a move

I am OK with a bid never having been accepted. That means M&M have the valuation of the player and were not prepared to go outside those lines. This is the sort of trading a responsibly run club should do!!
I know nothing about Green, except for the various comments on here, but if he was as good as some would suggest, why is he still in League 1? Surely a Championship club would have come in for him if he was viewed as some on here view him.
I also hope it also means we have a number of irons in the fire and we will now try to bring them in. Midnight tomorrow I am hoping all hell will let loose!!
St Charles-
Agree. Why get involved in a bidding war spiraling set budgets out of control. Too many clubs suffered and are suffering from that kind of irresponsible behaviour.
Having said that, there's a sharp contrast to Chris Powell at Charlton who has now signed 8 players and Megson's market activity. Surely Megson has identified key players to join us, let's hope when July 1st dawns there is a frenzy of activity at Hillsborough!
anyone know who the other 6 are????
Thought not, nor bothered at all about that.
NYO, with you there. We signed how many players in January and fat lot of good it did us!!
I would think most of the signings made so far are players who have been either put up for sale by their current club or have been released, so most are not wanted. Come midnight tomorrow, the players whose contracts will end become available so I hope the quality will rise. Go get 'em Meggo!!
sod that, lets buy players that clubs want to keep but can't afford to turn us down!
Yes, Henderson would've been great in this division. However, we still have last year's top scorer, deadley Ched!
To be perfectly honest with everyone, I think Charlton are welcome to Danny Green.
I don't think Charlton will do much next season either.
Good point SCO. Do you want 8 Danny Green's or 1 Lionel Messi?
That's what Meggo's waiting for.
Offtopicblade, yes I can see your point but do you ever think the Spammers will forgive McCabe when your point is taken into consideration??
NYO - we only need Messi's left peg, know any good surgeons?
"NEVER HEARD OFF HIM ?"
Of course you haven't.
You'd need to follow football to have heard 'off' him!

All nicey nice on here then I see.
From what people have been saying to me over the past few weeks and have put in this article 1st July is the big day so until then not bothered but if by 1700 on the 1st if we haven’t got anyone else on out books I shall be publishing a big ‘oh my god we're going down the seasons over’ type of article. If we do sign then much the opposite will be posted as I’m as fickle as everyone else on here from one day to the next!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh and Imre there is nothing wrong with American football. I used to think it was a s*^" but after 4 years of having it rammed down my throat in the states i have finally come round to it.
However baseball is still more boring than a 1970's test match

Too easy!
To get back on topic, did anyone see that film about Frida Kahlo last night?
Charlton have put down a marker by signing Green.
But they know that the big close season news is that we've fought off Elgin and Worksop to resign the midfield maestro James "Boss" O Conner. Be afraid div one. Be very afraid!
Danny Green was the best midfield player in L1 last season. He scored 13 goals from midfield in a poor side. He is also a free kick specialist.
He would have been worth about 10 points to Wednesday, far more than Prutton. Championship teams were after Green but he turned down Peterboro & Ipswich because he wanted to stay in London.
Charlton were poor last season but they have bought well and early which is always a sign of a team that is going to improve.
And Jonathan Douglas, another player many Owls fans, including me, had on their wishlist has signed for ....Brentford. I hope this means Meggo thinks he won't need him because he has better players lined up - but most Swindon fans will tell you Douglas is better than Prutton - he's been their Player of the Year for the last two seasons
