I'm well thanks Lancs.. have a chess match tonight and feeling a little nervous about this one - have done well this season so far (for a first season back) - but this would be compared to a 6-pointer if it was a footy match.

Lancs... I'm a keen chess player, or was when I was 12 - 16, played for Italy too.. thing is when at that age I had too much going on etc so gave it up / lost interest... now I'm in my early 30's and picked it up again, joined a club in the Leeds League... am enjoying playing again and those pre-match nerves are back too

I would say that Im not to bad but had my mate checkmate in 7 moves in one of the games the other week

Lancs & Tusc, you're far too intelligent for the likes of me. While you brainiacs were finessing your Kasparov moves, I was sending my toy Evel Knievel & motorbike over the neighbors ornate bushes.

Tuscany, I often play the game chess against the computer on my laptop and over the last 2 years Ive only beaten the computer 5 times

batty you don't have to be intellegent, just strategic.. in all honestly many parts of my life are like a chess game, move peices in to place before making your killer move, whilst thinking about the long-term implications of each move etc...

Lancs... the thing about computers are they don't make human error mistakes, no harm in losing to a computer... the one I find is good is the pre-loaded chess game on wondows 7, different levels of ability etc, that computer game is how I got my self back to playing chess again, re-found my interest, and now I'm sat here constantly needing the toilet I'm that nervous

will do, not been this nervous at all with the games this season, but tonight I know I'm playing a player graded around where I am, though I'm ungraded this season becuase it's my first, I have a rough idea of what grade I should be.........
