Good stuff there sir, have been away for a while and writing articles on an ipad is near impossible!

Anyway

Wales by 20

Ireland by 5

England by 2

I think the loss of poc is a very tough blow, but in the long term might prove a good thing for irealnd

I think Wales have been the best team in the tournament and we haven't even started playing our best yet. We should have beaten Ireland by more, eased past Scotland and beat England despite them playing their best game for a while, and us playing distinctly average. Italy have been a mixed bag this year, looking very competitive at times, then terrible, it is the lack of a middle ground that will see Wales run out very comfortable winners, and I will be there to see it.
Wales by 30+

Ireland have been playing some good rugby, but so have Scotland, the main difference would be Ireland know how to score tries and win games, Scotland still seem to be waiting to figure both out, whilst an away victory would not be a massive surprise, I would say Ireland by more than 7.

France have been typical France really, hot and cold, although I am yet to be really impressed by them. England deserve to be on 0 points so far and were very, very lucky to win those first 2 games, and if it was not for Charlie-charge-downs they probably would be. However they have been slowly improving and have a potentially great player in Farrell, Tuilangi is a game winner and I wouldn't write them off in France. I see a close one, but France running out victors by less than 10.

I think you have been a bit harsh with Wales in your article. No one has taken into account the injuries the Wales squad is currently having to deal with. Plus in the Irish and English game Wales were denied clear advantages of try scoring opportunity's which was probably down to poor refereeing, but never the less, were poor decision beneifting the home sides. Despite this they have scored more try's than each of their opponents.

England i think will get a result in France if they can keep the ball like they did against Wales, i think the Welsh defence was partly the reason for their lack of points for possession and territory. France, however looked very open against Ireland and i think Tuilagi could make a telling break or two from midfield.

Scotland, although much improved, don't have the backs to trouble Ireland, although i think the Scots could cause an upset in the scrum and line-out.

I forgot to give my 2 cents on england v france.

To be quite Honest i would normally back England but not this time.

They are not the hard nosed, stuff you, never say die, in your face, bloody minded etc etc etc Team they once were.

Even in the past few years of frankly, bad English teams they had that hard edge about them. and the willingness to be arrogant and bullish and not take a step back regardless of what they faced.

I'm no fan of England, but i have always respected that part of their character.

This year, with Lancaster at the helm, he has neutered that arrogant side, and while most have condemned England for being arrogant in the past, i have always thought that you need a certain amount of arrogance. Certainly when you you face down a team like France, and know that from 1 to 15 they are better than you yet to have the self belief/arrogance to go out and expect to win is something to be respected.

Now with Lancaster, they are just a normal rugby team. Easier to sum up and look judge them on paper and on paper they can't win in Paris.
Their self belief in the past has won games. Not skill, talent luck or anything else.
An x factor that they have lost.

Haha, lucky Wales, next you will be saying its a devauled 6 nations because teams are rebuilding after the world cup.

Ireland should have had a yellow card within 5 minutes for a deliberate knock on and Wales would have scored a hat full.

Scotland paid the price for deliberatly giving away penalties.

England very nearly got blown away early doors, then defended well, Wales butcherd a two man overlap, England could have gone down to 14 as well. Wales Defended well, nothing lucky about it.

Cobnob,

Wow harsh mate its just his opinion, and he backs it up even if some of us don't agree.

Anyway.
Wales by 45?

Mate the 42 - 6 beating Ireland gave Italy has been the highest 6 nations winning margin, OF ANY TEAM, in the past ten years

You think wales are going to put 45 on Italy. Probably they will, but that size of a margin, to blow the history books away? not a chance my friend. They are indeed a very good side!
but record breakers? not just yet.

I reckon you have lost your marbles mate

LOL ha i made a mistake. 42 -10 was the score. meaning that 32 points is the highest winning margin in ten years!

Makes your 45 point margin/prediction look even more unlikely.

Not entirely true Ding. England dicked them last year - put about 60 points on them didn't they?

Ah, not quite: 59 - 13.

But I agree. We're probably not going to see another thrashing like that on Saturday.

Hey gecko mate. Indeed your right. Gets me wondering the the hell the irish TV commentators were talking about 2 weeks ago 0¿o
seems they were talking out of their collective back sides.

But ye anyway, 45 point margins are as rare as hens teeth in this competition. Tho with the half back pairing the Italians have... running over them shouldn't be that difficult

DingBat forgets any decent England performance ^^

Soory didn't mean to sound so harsh, just get annoyed when people say Wales were lucky.

As for 45 might well have got a bit carried away, but Wales are only getting stronger with Rees back and Charteris on the bench.

Italy after a promising start seem to be going backwards and may well run out of the steam in the last 20. Against Wales who are very fit this could see a few points shipped.

Ambitious but I am going to stick with it.

posted on 9/3/12

Fair play cobnob. I would stick to it too You make a very valid point about the fitness. It not just that either. Mentally they are fragile. Ireland killed them mentally scoring a tries right before and right after half time.

Aristodemus,
Na mate, im irish. we have memories like elephants!!! But we dont recall the good times over and over and over and over again and agian and agian .... and again
<- BOOM BOOM!

Anyway, genuinely the TV commentators said that a few weeks ago and i took it as fact. Note to self, ignore irish TV commentators.

So i see your going for england to win in paris.... Why?

Cobnob,
You'll notice I give Wales winning by only 6 fewer than you and more than anyone else...
...and why have you named yourself after a Swan's dangle anyway?

Can I retire from articles and scoring now that SARS seems to be back?

They are a great biscuit, a bit like Wales. Thick, tasty and a great pack, liable to crumble when you least expect it.

I'm picking Itlay to run Wales close; and England to France, upsetting those who have a limited enough ability to read the game to believe that would be an upset.

Can't see past England winning their remaining too, and the over-hyped Wales to end poorly with a narrow win over Italy and loss to France.

Another 6N championship for England, and much Welsh cries that the tournament was "devalued".

posted on 9/3/12

Oh!, and Ireland in a narrow loss to Scotland, in a largely irrelevant game.
