Are they bad players though? Most want the Manager out because he is perceived to be lacking in ideas, tactics, formational nouse, motivational skills, confidence building and more. What would many of those players be like if they played to a decent system, with tactics, with a game plan, with belief and confidence?
I think the only players there that are not good enough for this level are Blanchett, Jimmy, Cleveland and Gurrieri.
The players who obviously have some ability but consistently fail to deliver (so should be moved on) are Maghoma and Bolder.
Yussuf has looked atrocious in the last 2 games. He looks like he is trying to hard and his confidence is shot to pieces. He could turn out well.
well in response i would probably keep, Kee but i suspect he will be sold in the summer so id start afresh
Maghoma and Stanton too after a re-think
Some of the players ie- Corbett,Austin,James,Mcgrath have given this club great service but on the evidence of almost 3 seasons in the league they are not good enough at this level, no matter how much effort they put in will not make up for lack of quality or age catching up with the. Harsh facts that have to be faced.
One or two of the squad may well respond better to a new manager but again i ask the question, how many of them would get in another league 2 team ?
Good points,
My retained list for any division would be. Kee, Zola,Stanton & Dyer. As Teraceman said the old rearguard have given good service to the club but are not good enough now.
Atkins confidence is shot to peices.
Interesting point someone made to me about him.
He 's critisised for not coming for crosses.
Now Kevin Poole is his coach and it appears thats how he coaches not liking his keepers to come more than a couple of yards out for crosses.
If true it explains a few things.
Other than Dyer who is only a young guy the rest of midfield needs changing.
Wide men who can beat a man then cross the ball.
Middle men who actually can play balls forward into threatening areas.
Put it likethis its a massive job for whoever takes over if Ben ever has the guts to sack Pesch.
I for one will not follow them next season if Pesch is in charge.
I love watching football but what were turning out at the moment isnt football.
'Play with confidence', Express yourselves', 'Believe', Be creative', 'Make the ball do the work', 'Have faith in your own ability'....
These are the sort of things that should be hammered in to the minds of the players.
Spot on Otep that is what an experienced old manager of mine used to say if we were struggling. He was a great leader, mind you we also had 2or3 on the pitch who i listened too as i was more scared of them than the opposition !!!!
