Bolox. He dives to gain an unfair advantage. Just admit it.
Apart from Tom Daley,no one admits to diving.
I was at the game last night at the end the penalty(s) were given. Both were correctly called, what everyone seems to have missed is that for the Bale penalty, the linesman signalled that is was a push and not for a trip. Not even our eagle-eyed press seem to have picked this up.
I went diving last night, luckily I'd been to Beaver Sports earlier!
My girlfriend is a chelsea fan but even she comments on how often teams try to kick bale out of the game , he gets very little pretection so dont blame him if he goes down
There have been increasing occurrences of diving when there has been little or no apparent contact.
Trying to jump up/over from a tackle is more credible (and if they are dirty, their follow-through may drag their face across your studded boots in mid-air) .

Your being silly Dave or is it Davina
When i played I was very small and very quick... players would try to kick me out of the game and I understand this point of view. You always see a tackle coming and you take evasive action... which usually means that if you can get both feet off the ground before contact you're not going to run the risk of a broken leg, twisted knee, ankle etc etc... it's almost always a foot still on the ground that results in bad injuries...
I was accused of being a diver... and in a way I was, but I only ever did it to save myself...
... I finally got badly hurt, a completely torn cruciate ligament in my right knee... I didn't see the guy coming and it was completely intentional on his part to hurt me. As I was lying on the ground he shouted in my face... "that's what you get you f-ing diver."
It's a part of football and if a player is given particularly rough treatment I think he's within his rights to retort in this manner purely to protect himself.
I just wish I'd dived more. Haven't played since.
Hanz......................There does not need to be actual contact for a penalty or a free kick to be awarded. The decision is always based on INTENT........................
There was contact on Bale last night and the right decision was made as it was the right decision to award Stevenage a penalty too!
yep, just reiterate what geniusgreaves has said, a foul is as much about intent as it is.. hence the Kompany red card a few months back.
It's the same reason that you get sent off for throwing a punch, even if it doesn't connect.
Bale is usually travelling at full pace when he is taken out, making injuries far easier to pick up.
Players like Suarez manage to dive from a standing start, against the Arsenil he managed a complete somersault with out any contact.
Bale is such a girl!!! and admitting as much. I don't like it when people tackle me because it hurts. Bottle job. Football is a contact sport. Plus who's he kidding, the dives that he's done are not studs up challenges. Cheat
Cheese.................................It is not only studs up tackles that injure. It is obvious you have never played the game or you would understand this.
It is rational for a player to want to avoid injury if possible, this does not make them a cheat.
I would be the first to decry a Spurs player if I thought he was cheating in anyway!!
so are you saying that bale doesn't dive?
Dunno if this has been said but look at the like time Bale didn't get out the way/dive Adam ended his season.
doesn't really matter, diving is cheating. loads of players don't dive and don't get injured

scribe, i know arsenal players have dived, and i dont like it, there is also a big difference between diving and avoiding a challenge.
Bale openly dives, and is a cheat for doing so.
He's not alone, but that doesn't make it right.
If he dives then he deserves to be pulled up for it, equally those who go into challenges recklessly should. Two wrongs aren't making a right though.
