We've been crying out for Jones to play & ultimately that may turn out to be Megson's biggest mistake.
He saw enough in him to bring him to the club yet pretty much discarded after an hour of the Charlton game in favour of a more defensive option, or should I say less attacking option because Jones puts the defensive effort in.
The balance in midfield we saw on Tuesday could have been there for 6 weeks.
Yeah the first team looked the most balanced all season, in particular in midfield where we played TWO wingers for the first time (not classing JJ as a winger seeing as he cant cross or pass for toffie), obviously Davey is the complete opposite to meggy in terms of philosphy and tactics and Tuesday showed that if we keep the ball and keep it simple then we are more than likely to score a few. I liked meggy for his passion and for finding a winning formular to get us in third but after tuesday, without getting too excited, looks like we are in for some good football and could bring out the best in the good players we have and that Meggy brought in. Also I think Madine will come good again because of this, I like what J Daves said the other day that everyone will have a fresh start and that was certainatly the case for Lowe, Bennett, M Jones...and Madine who looked more the player he was before his injury!!! Just hope we continue in the same vain for the rest of the season
