Im confused why we gave him a new deal, he has been poor for a while, as you say his game is very limited, should of shifted him off in the summer.
While I agree he has had a poor season.... I think it has everything to do with the fact that he always plays in these botched together teams that SAF feels are good enough for CL group games and the rest.
We need to have a core 11 and rest a different few each time these sort of games pop up.... not whole sale changes.
Hopefully he will go so he can stop scoring against us
Ji Sung Park's Cousin (U2958)
Totally agree! Sir Alex puts him in his reserve squad so when you've not got your best players around you, it's very hard for you to be able to show what you can do. How many times has Park been involved in all our best counter attacks in football in the past few years? Scoring absolute vital goals when we've needed them - The winner against Chelsea 30 seconds after Drogba scored, or the winner against Liverpool? Even play in certain unknown positions and perform well? To get the best out of players, you need to play them with the best we have available.
Same with Dimitar Berbatov - He seems to only get played with the 'B' team of Man United, and yet everyone wonders why he's not producing. He was in the first team all last season, and he was the biggest reason why we won the league. Rooney was on a very long goal drought, and without Dimitars goals, we would have been out the title race in the first few months.
you know as soon as you see park on the teamsheet and he's playing out wide we are going to get very little in terms of attacking from that side of the pitch.
The man has little skill, little pace, no ability to beat a man and is likely to blown over by a gust of wind.
saying that he has been a good servant, he just shouldnt be near the starting 11 any more.
JackyRambo - Champions of England, Spain, Italy and Germany blown away by the mighty cannon (U8766)
- I remember being at the bookies when we played you lot at Old Trafford. I remember the odds of Park scoring was something ridiculous like 4/1 which I believe was on par with Rooney and Van Persie. I'm glad that cheeky fiver bet paid off
Or is it the case that Park starts the games which Fergie deems difficult games where United will need to be chasing the ball a little and pressing from the front, meaning the more difficult games and thus not as many wins?
In the 07/08 season, I am sure at one point he had stats where he had started 19 games, of which we had won 18 and drawn 1. Just saying.

That doesnt surprise me at all. Im sure John O'sheas odds were on par with that as well
I actually got Park on my shirt this season, I love the lad. Unfortunatley I have to agree he is at the twilight of his career, he apears to have lost the nack of winning the ball and keeping it, he is often losing his battles now and it's sad to see.
Theresonlyone red: Fergie felt that against crystal palace, wigan, blackburn, newcastle, leeds, aldershot, basel, norwich, swansea (their home performances unknown at the time) and stoke that we would be chasing the ball and difficult games? Yet he didnt start in league games against chelsea, spurs, man city or arsenal?
Elvis: Are you making a case for Park? or a case that 4 years ago he he was alot more effective, I agree hes been a great player for us however my point was has he started to decline and lose that effectivness your stats in 07/08 and mine 11/12 would suggest so

Nah I wasn't making a case for him. Just saying how influential he was at a time. I agree that he hasnt been too great recently. Maybe he needs to be playing more regularly now? Wouldn't surprise me if he left soon.

Some were away games and some he was involved in the teams with the rest of your second team, whilst others were rested. Which again raises the point of, is it because he starts firstly the more difficult games and secondly the games, where your second team plays?
This raises the question of the manager rotating too much, in my opinion, not of one player being to blame. We get the same nonsense about Kuyt. People like excitement, if they don't give it, no matter what else they give the club, they want blood, unfortunately.
SAF really like him and he signed until June 2013......In big games he used to be one of the 1st names on the teamsheet and Id never take away what he has done for the club. Playing more often would perhaos bring out the best in him again but playing him on the wing and he doesnt offer enough attacking threat certainly not being selected over the other wingers and centrally i feel hes best when we play 3 CMs so we can still have ball playing midfielders
If Park were to leave and be played in this kind of formation elsewhere I think he could do a good job:
............Striker
LWF......Park.....RWF
.........CM......CM
Is is every good at getting between the oppositions defence and midfield when playing centrally.

SAF rotation this has shown either he trusts some of our squad players too much or he has not given the opposition enough credit...Its probably a mix of the two.

i think it's more to do with the fact that you have a few ageing players, so have to rotate. However Fergie has always been a manager who rotates his teams, even before those nasty foreigners came and got blamed on it.
'Wouldn't surprise me if he left soon.'
Nah he still sells millions of Shirts in S.Korea and bring more and more fans. He is huge over there, so I'd imagine he will be here for a couple more years yet.
His experience and professionalism is also good to have in the squad.

Do you think that he is happy right now? I just wonder if he might think that it is time to move on? He is past his peak now and maybe he will fancy a move back home as he winds down? Or perhaps a move to a smaller team where he commands a regular starting spot?
He has had a successful career and done well at United. But he isnt a regular right now and maybe it is time for a change.

If you watch the lad he actually does his best work when finding the space inbetween the two opposition lines. I though that this was common knowledge amongst United fans.
Elvis (U7425)
Perhaps, he strikes me as a very humble man though, who probably realises his career would be best served plaing a bit-part role at Utd, which would also prolong his career and he'd go down as a cult hero (he will anyway) who saw his career out at the club.
You could be right I don't know, I think Sir Alex likes to keep a few of the older, more professional players in the squad as a reminder to the youngsters of how to carry themselves tbh. I also think he would miss Evra too much, them pair are funny.
It was a role he also sometimes played for PSV. I think that he played in that position against AC Milan when he caused them all kinds of problems.

He has been disappointing of late. However, I think that playing regularly would help him. Either way, he has done a lot of his best work for us in AM positions. He was also pretty effective in that position for PSV. Why you are surprised to learn that is beyond me. Just another indicator that you arent really a United fan as many suspect.
