He shoulda been sold in the summer, there is absouluty no reason for him to be at the club and we could of made good money after the season he had, now we will be lucky to get 5 mil for him, we could of got about 15 - 20 after last season. Horrific.
Completely agree with you. We should play him most time s at home, never away though IMO.
I agree. Out of Berbatov, Welbeck and Hernandez, Berba has the most ability with the ball. I still enjoy watching him play, he was brilliant in the first half against Ajax. But, Rooney seems to find it easier to play when Chica or Welbeck make runs behind and provide him with that little bit extra space.
I think he should at least be making the bench, as he offers us something different in attack, he can unlock defences, hold the ball up to allow our wingers to catch up with play, and he could even be someone to bring on to keep possession if we're holding onto a lead.
I have a feeling he'll be gone in the summer
He's on 100k per week basically to train and then sit down on match days.
He is a very talented player and seems like a nice guy too......He is just not suited to our preferred style of play.
We don't play tippy tappy stuff.....we have always been about pace, attacking with great width and good movement. 3 things that Berbatov either doesn't have or doesn't thrive on.
Absolutely ridiculous to have a player earning so much and contributing so little. He's not even been injured much and doesn't play internationals anymore either.
Totally puzzled that we didn't sell if the reports of a 10m pound bid were. That's 10m plus about 5m more in wages saved. Maybe that might have proved the difference in bringing in the midfielder we 'missed out' on. We certainly haven't missed him upfront but my god have we been short in midfield at times. So short we got Scholesy out of retirement.
baffles me as to why he didn't start on thursday. he'd at least have helped with ball retention. also, his games to goal ratio this season is impressive. i'd be sad to see him leave.
I said at the end of last season if someone offers £10-£15m then we should sell. Unfortunately berbatov doesn't fit the man utd style. However he still has his good days so lets hope saf uses him to rotate our strikers from burnout.

Me too, well a little bit anyway.
But if he's not fancied then why on earth did we keep him? There wouldn't be lack of clubs interested that's for sure. In the right team playing the right way, Berba is still world class. He is a great technical player. But he slows it down to much for my liking. When we slow it down and let teams get men behind the ball, we really struggle.
90,000 to not even be on the bench though is pure nonsense. Only Fergie could get away with it as well.
That's just ridiculous. I said last season that he wasn't the answer. And neither is Hernandez. And Welbeck is unproven.
I think berbatov will be remembered for his miss against everton in fa cup semi-final his performance in the 1-2 defeat against chelsea at OT and the fa cup semi-final defeat to man city.
However he has his good moments, I reckon his hat-trick against liverpool probably won us the title as we were going through a period of throwing games away like fulham away west brom home etc before he did an incredible hat-trick after throwing another 2 goal lead.
Forgot meant everton away throwing away 2 goal lead in stoppage time. So that win was vital.
Berbatov just doesn't fit into our style of play, no matter how you dress it up he makes us play a much slower game.
I personally think he is suited for different games like maybe today when the game will be crowded. Our OT form last year was great as berbatov helped a bit with hernandez form as well and rooney and nani scoring important goals with park as well.
This year at OT we have some good games but those tight games we cannot score we have the same strikers on. Berbatov showed last year against bolton he can do it.
Its strange he was scoring goals and was dropped virtually for half of last season.
no matter how you dress it up he makes us play a much slower game.

Regurgitated bullshíte.
For the most part, we do not play slower with him on the pitch... We play deeper. It compacts the space that Rooney operates in and that is why he doesn't play often.
We rarely play that fast counter attacking football of the past... Be it with Berba, Chico or Welbeck...
Anyway, Berba should leave... He is too good to be treated like this... The moment he saw Owen's name on that CL final teamsheet... He should have put in a transfer request... One of the worst decisions SAF ever made
