His famous screamer against Arsenal notwithstanding, he's not good enough for a side like Spurs. Watching him, I see a quick, athletic player lacking the technical qualities to fit in at a top club. Does he even make the England U-21's?
The reason he remains on the fringes, is because ability wise, that's what he is - a fringe player.
Left back is one of the weaker positions for Spurs, Ekotto is inconsistent and Rose (at the moment) isnt really quality back up.
It just seems to me that he offers something different. I've never seen him play badly and people often say Bale & Lennon need some sort of competition... I'd give him a chance. I can't agree that he isn't good enough. He always plays well.
Tottenham's Penalty Coach - I don't think there's any doubt that the injuries he has suffered since he's been at our club have set him back. I have no doubt we would have seen him in the 1st team sooner than we did if it hadn't have been for these injuries.
Since tehn we have moved/are moving, to another level and whilst Rose remains decent cover for a couple of positions on the left, he remains just that, a decent squad player and no more.
One goal wonder
=========================
but what a hell of a goal though
Rose's problem is, not only is he so one footed, its his inability to use any other channel other than the one that is outside left. I know Bale & Lennon prefer their left & right touchline's, respectively - but at least they cut inside some of the time.
He must be so easy to defend against, once you've got a measure of his pace.
He'll always be a Spurs favourite though, because of THAT goal alone.
Think its hard to judge him till he gets a better run in the team but im guessing he wont quite make it if we want to push on
what happened to Bostock?
Bostock is currently on loan at Sheffield Wednesday.

3rdplace - I think he's injured at the moment, which might go against him there with a new manager coming in and the team winning.
As far as I am aware, any attitude problems that may have existed, have calmed down. He is now married and is a devout Christian, so sounds as if his life is settled.
He probably won't make it with us, but it's easy to forget he's still only 20 and there is a talent in there somewhere.
Danny Rose is quite clearly not good enough to hold down a regular place in the side. I quite like him. He is a decent player with a good attitude. I think he would do well at a norwich or a west brom. I think he is premier league quality

He does seem to be a bit of a 'one-note' player from the little we've seen of him on the pitch in my opinion.
However, these so-called squad players have been brought on a bit and played their part in winning the title for Man Utd season after season as far as I can see. And yet, we have players that would be definite starters at other clubs who can't even buy a minute on the pitch at Spurs.
Something doesn't add up.
Chronic - I don't think anyone's talking about a regular place in the side
ill go out on a limb here and disagree with spurcat. maybe he only looks average when hes playing for the reserves, but when he has played for the first team he has looked excellent. i thought he was outstanding when he filled in at left back at the end of last season, and i am confident he could do a good job at left midfield. bale is quite happy playing on the right.

he would have a free role if it was up to him. the simple facts are that all his most devastating work in a spurs shirt has been done from the left, without exception.
he is a left winger. he has absolutely no right foot so ever... he doesnt even cut inside and shoot when hes on the right so what is the point of it. he doesnt track back any more so its nothing to do with defensive side of things...
he is a top left winger so he should play on the left whether he likes it or not.
Chronic,
I agree that he's at his best when he's on the left side, but i dont agree that he cant use his right foot - its just he refuses to use it 99% of the time.
