They played better cricket throughout. At the start of the Powerplay our bowlers felt the pressure, a bit more runs on the board would have been better.

is he referring to sachin slowing down abit near the end to get his personal landmark?
Whether he is referring such or not, but for me It was a selfish inning.
I know Sachin has played other 99 glorious sefl-less hundreds and played for team, but today his personal glory was at the back of his mind, then the team priorities,
that is my feeling.
Another meaningless century His team lost and I have always said that statistics are uninteresting. India lost today and Tendulkar did not give a monkeys about his team / country. Do you remember Warner doing the same for Australia recently? All looks good for them in their record books, and lucking nobody will remember the match results
Couldn’t agree more with you guys. I did a win % to 100’s for 3 recent players (I think on bbc 606) inzy, ponting and sachin. It proved that inzy and ponting had much much better win % when they scored 100’s compared to sachins in test matches. Also, sachins contribution in the 2nd innings of the test matches were below inzy and pontings……..
But some people will talk to death about his 100 100 regardless of the context and the match situation he got these in.

Neon, do you agree, Sachin was slow today? Could he have been more team focused today? With so many wickets in hand ,could have scored at a better rate?
He played half the ball and his runs were less than 40% of team total.
yh today i personally felt he was very selfish, and i had it in my fb post that its his worst 100 ihave seen. Dhoni definately referred to him, because well all the others were atleast run a ball. one
but being able to defend 290 is a not any batsman's fault. our bowlers were very poor. they are just so crap
Viru, are we still calling those guys "bowlers"?
and afridi, wait how can you win a match by just scoring a 100. australia and pakistan have always had really gd bowlers who could always defend anything more than 250. tendulkar or india have never had that luxury. u cant blame tendulkar for the bowling unit to not defend 270+. by scoring a 100 he has done his job. i mean against bangladesh why shud any top team need 300+ at the first place. i think that itself is enough to suggest that its not tendulkars fault.
Viru, agree the large chunk of the blame does lay with the bowlers….. but SACHIN was going at a decent strike rate up until he got to 80-ish and slowed down thinking of himself and not the team…. Anything over 300 and Bengalis wouldn’t have had a sniff. They would have been playing for their pride rather than victory

Very well put Viru, you really are a quality poster.
I`m looking forward to Sunday, cant wait to see you lot have a go at each other on here
Sunday ,I am receiving my driving license. It will be an exciting day for me.
don't you need to pass a test?
Watch out for Pakistani or Indian fans driving up and down roads, waving flags and beeping horns..
On the topic,
Will this victory be the foundation stone for a champion Bangladeshi team?
Lets hope so.
Cricket will be in a better state with a champion Benga boys team backed by a fan base of over 150 million.
afridi my point is why shud we need 300+ to defend against bangladesh? no disrespect to bangladesh, but they are a very low ranked team, we shud even be able to defend 200 against them. or for that instance all gd ranked teams shud have the confidence to defend a low total against bangla
I passed the test a week ago.
was very nervous like Tendulkar was today on his nineties.
But Viru, You lot need 300+ to defend against bangladeshi.
Last time these 2 teams met ,Bangadesh scored 283 for 9 wickets in the world cup opener.
And i can also remember Bangladesh have always scored 270+ against India in such flat bangladeshi tracks.
Many a time before they even looked threatening before their middle order collapsed.
Congrats, enjoy the first few months, because after a while, the novelty wears off.
300 runs in these type of bangladeshi flat-tracks translates to 250 runs in other grounds in the world.
And also add that dew factor in the evening.
Congrats, enjoy the first few months, because after a while, the novelty wears off.
thankyou.
oh how correct you are.but it happens with everything in life.Everything looks great until you have it.Once you have it, then the utility is gone.
What a dumb thing to say?
People are slating the greatest player for anchoring the inning?
Bangladesh won it fair and square. Our bowlers were not competitive. if a team cant defend a 290 even in the flattest of tracks against Bangladesh, then would it not be the 100 percent blame to the bowlers and the captain?
Sachin is really the god of cricket.Even when India loses,Sachin is the shining light.I bow down to you Sachin.
