He made a song about the legend that is Jack Duckworth? Not sure Corrie fans cross over to hip hop.

Half the songs on the album sound like they have come from a Kid A album

Listened to it a few times now and Damn is awesome, possibly not as profound as some of his other albums but really grows. That being said as much as I like the single Humble it doesn't really fit.

I'm playing the album in reverse after reading that theory and it actually works really well. He's done it again K.

Is it the track order in reverse or is it the actual songs backwards, giving out subliminal messages like the good old days?

The tracks.

Have you got round to listening to it yet DJ?

track order in reverse* if that wasn't clear

Nah, been on days so I will give it a go tomorrow probably.

Personally I think it's overrated like everything Kendrick's put out, maybe I just don't like his style or sound though. Is there one track where you think he justifies being regarding as the best emcee in the game?

What about on Damn?

Off the top of my head...

Blacker the Berry, Mad City, Fear...

Think he's done enough to be in the conversation at least

posted on 18/4/17

Yeah I agree he deserves to be in the conversation considering the lack of competition within mainstream, but with this album already being highly praised with people like Rosenberg bringing his name into the discussion of the greatest ever, I just don't hear the supposed greatness well at least not with this album anyway.

Duckworth and Fear on Damn for his storytelling

Suppose its how you define greatness then.

He has 3/4 great albums which is more than some 'greats'

posted on 18/4/17

I should of been more specific, there's not one track on Damn that I listen too that makes me think this guy might be the best rapper ever, fear and duckworth are my favorite tracks I don't hear anything that impressive from and emceeing standpoint. This is coming from someone that thinks that when he's at his best Kendrick there is only a handful of emcees that can go toe to toe with him.

for what its worth this is my favourite song of his

Definitely top 3 of his generation.
Like football, it is always hard and a bit unjust to compare across generations. And lets be honest, it is usually swung by when you grew up.

This is what I'm talking about, listening to this skill as an emcee is undeniable well for me anyway and I don't hear that on 'DAMN'.

Not even DNA?

I think Kendrick has gone further than just proving his skill on the mic.
