Anyone listen to freestyles?
Any opinion on whos the best freestyler?
Benny, not really. But you could have opened the door to some awful freestyles being linked (Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa...)
LOL
Lil waynes freestyle on Tim westwood is such a joke. He has ZERO talent.

I think freestyle shows a rappers true ability.
Dunno, some rappers need to write lyrics down and are every bit as good as a rapper who can freestyle. I personally do not think it should be seen as a negative if a rapper likes to construct his lyrics with a more considered approach.
TBH, It is purely about rhyme, and who can make the cleverest rhymes. Dare I say Eminem is the best ever freestyler
Anyway, I think any top rapper there has been has had a shot at freestyle.
Gotta say I can't stand Minajs verse in Monster..

Thank you! Kills the track a little IMO, can't stand her voice.

The bloke who sang that song you quoted.
Reaching Out is what it is called I believe.

Oh. Thought it was a bit sweary for Rodgers...
Oh that first verse is, wow, didn't know that, learn something new...
That is quite nice though
I always tend to try and find the samples if I like a song. You can find some classic songs that way.
Also interesting to see what parts of songs hip-hop producers take from a song. Sometimes it is hard to spot the sample.
Find some interesting facts too. For instance the sample used by both Wu Tang and Eminem for Can It Be So Simple and My Name Is... features Dave Hodges on guitar.
Dave Hodges as in Chas 'n' Dave.
Thus Chas 'N' Dave are technically on two hip-hop classics (at least... think it is used a lot as a sample...)
chas was on a league of there own.
What do you mean?
======
For instance, Jay-Z sampled Bobby Blues track 'Ain't No Love In The Heart Of the City" for his song 'Heart Of The City'. After hearing Jiggas song I found the original, and found it to be a great song.
Question: do you like tyga? I get mixed feelings, I feel, like chris brown, he is serious talent, but he just uses it wrong, add to that he is in YMCMB
Nah, never heard anything of Tyga that I like. Rack City?
Yes he is the rack city dude far away is decent, it's a love song, just wish he would not sing YMCMB stuff.
