Wasn't this said before when he scored?
Too early to tell and Leicester is not the oppositionto make such a call.
Also not sure if he will keep Drogba out of the team against City.
It has to be said again, if we say it enough then it could happen, its called +ve thinking.
On previous occasions he was benched for 5 games after scoring.
As much as im happy for the lad, it is only leicester. Not the best oppenents but just like wednesday, he looked full of confidence
a forward line of dd and torres and an unselfish sturriidge will be unstoppable
But that meañs playiñg Torres out wide which does ñot work!

it does, he will create goals for torres, he did it today for meireles and kalou, the other day for mata, the lad is a huge talent, he can take on defenders and cause loads of problems, recently he won us a penalty. I will like him to be a regular starter out on the left, with mata just behind the three strikers.
*he will create loads for drogba*
He was benched for 5 games after he scored because a) he got a red card of his own doing and b) Drogba was playing well. We need to give him more games before making these types of articles though
I thought this would happen last time.
I worry he is just one bad miss away from regressing though.
He did look top notch today though and his touch improved after he scored
He is back, for real this time, you could feel it in his body language, their is this fluidity about him, like everything is finally in sync.
2 days ago you'd be the first to criticise him.
J T says he can play...so there
Fantastic performance by Torres.
Not only did Torres score 2 but he provided 2 assists to set up Kalou and Meireles.
Very unselfish performance by Fernando. Could have gone for the hatrick but instead put it on a plate for Meireles.
What I look for in a striker is not so much the goals, but how important the goals are in the context of a game. Drogba is someone, who scores winning goals. Torres needs to do this. Chelsea need him to do this. Chelsea would have won today without his goals although it helps his confidence.
I agree with Gunnerbegood.
I like all Chelsea fans want him to be a success but Torres playing well today against Leicester does not mean that he will suddenly be a striker back to his previous best.

Oh mate, you have to be a wind up.
jesus boys, it was leicester A very average championship side......the Torres of old would of eaten these guys for breakfast and you wouldn't of battered an eye lid.......now everyones going over board because he got a few goals today, i don't think he will ever get back to his best i'm afraid
It was great to see Torres receiving the plaudits today after the kicking he's been given over the last 14 months by the press and media (and a few fans too!). It gives me a lot of pleasure thinking about those journalists with an agenda now choking on their gin and tonics as they sit in front of a keyboard and realise they are forced to write complimentary reviews for tomorrows editions.
But to me this, together with the Napoli game, highlights even more why, despite the criticism and outrage, the board were absolutely right to relieve AVB of his duties. I think we have seen over the last few games the way man management skills (or lack of) can be every bit as important as the tactics you write up on the whiteboard.
In Torres's case, I've been saying all season that in my opinion his performances weren't anywhere near as bad as some would have us believe. At the start of the season I thought he was playing as well as we'd seen him for quite some time. His movement, workrate, positioning and awareness were excellent in a lot of games. But then came his red card and AVB in his wisdom decided he would then make him sit in the naughty corner for the best part of two months.
All the while, whilst Drogba was hardly setting the world alight as his replacement, it was a case of seeing the Torres confidence levels fall right back to square one. Shocking management at the time and, for me at least, enough to convince me he wasn't the right man for the job.
Now, hopefully, with the backing of a manager who actually believes in him, today just might be the start of us seeing quality performances on a more regular basis and both the players and fans can start to forget the doom and gloom that typified AVB's reign.
Drogba was good after Torres was red carded and I doubt dropping Torres for a few games while there was a better option would spur a period where he does not score in 20+ appearances, mixing so many easy chances on the way.
