Our away form is only better because we have played 1 more game.

It has been excellent though...

But we have lost twice at home

Losing twice at home has probably been par for us before last years amazing run at home

I dont think so, over the years I would say we lose maximum 1 at home. I will go check

True, I am not knocking home form though just pointing out how good away form is.

Actually I stand corrected, we always seem to lose a couple of games at home including one season where we lost 6 :-0

I'm surprised with our second half performance yesterday. Sir Alex was right, it was "adequate". We could have put in more effort and made our goal difference the better one out of us and City.

It must be difficult though. You have to feel sorry for Wolves. One silly player doing 2 silly things cost them yesterday. I think we would have had a narrow win anyway but sometimes it might just be a bit cruel to go punish them with a cricket score!

But goals breed confidence and we should have kept up the pressure.

At half time yesterday I was thinking we'd get 7 or 8 but seemed to go easy on Wolves which is a shame as if they'd gone for it GD would be level.

Its funny how people say "its a transition season" so they will be happy with "just the league".

In reality, we have a very good squad. Yeah we didnt do so well in the Cups or Europe but that was down to the teams we put out.

I, and Im sure many others, felt that City would run away with the league especially at points such as the 1-6 or the Vidic injury but here we are with a great chance of beating them to the title despite the home losses or our incredible run of injuries.

The funny thing is, we have scored more away goals then Liverpool have home and away combined .

Also did you know this is the most amount of goals (73) Utd or any side for that matter have scored since the Premier league began at this stage of the season.

I'd love to see how City would have got on without Kompany the whole season.

Last year was a bit of an anomaly, both in terms of lack of away wins and results at home. I'm sure there is such a thing as 'home form' and 'away form' built from cumulative psychological effects but I reckon there is also a random element. Some of those home wins were scraped; some of those away draws would have been wins if the ball had flown a few inches to the left or right. In the end, we probably ended up with the appropriate total numbers of wins, draws and losses.

Mr Tea - I didn't know that, interesting stat

73 sure is a lot of goals.

i think we did the right thing yesterday, played the ball well and kept the game at our tempo.
we still have a few games left, so why tire yourself out when the game is won??

@Mr Tea,

Thats a good stat. We have been excellent in the league this year and as I said yesterday, without the challenge of Man City and their money we would be walking this league.

Good point CP, without Kompany, Man City look very shakey which just shows how good he is.

No, I want them at full strength so there is no excuses.

If we beat them to clinch the title then it will go down as one of the best title wins in history.

posted on 19/3/12

No I want them to have a player sent off and a pen given away so it's same for them as was for us.

It was only 1.0 before that and we were better side.

both milner and richards should have bee sent off at 0-0 in the game at old trafford, and valencia was denied a stone wall penalty in the cup game, so we're due some decisions against city.

It's also the most United have scored in 29 games since the year of the Munich air disaster.

I think we got one in the cup, Kompany red card was but iffy but it was dangerous and both footed studs up.

Stupid challenge, only because Nani jumped it didn't cause serious injury.

If United win our last 9 games (not impossible looking at the fixture list) we will end up with 97 points. A PL record total. Even if we draw at Maine Road we end up with 95, to equal the record. Yes I know the standard of the PL is lower than it used to be... but this current squad is much better than many give it credit for.

rules of the game say that it was the correct call, i don't think it deserved a red, but rules are rules so it was in no way a dodgy decision and we are thererfore still owed some luck against the matalan wearing ones.
