You've called it as you've seen it, no doubt about that.
I think everyone would agree that Ireland need to change, but I don't think a shock therapy session away in New Zealand is the time or place to do it
What I would suggest is that it is used as a means to an end - play O'Driscoll & O'Connell but with the long term 4 & 12 alongside them, then bring in the long term 5 & 13 for the next Six Nations, acknowledging the aim is build for the future
Drop Ferris, bring in O'Brien & O'Mahony whilst reading Heaslip the riot act
Have O'Gara there as a non-playing member to help groom the youngsters - maybe likewise Stringer (could be a useful developmental coaching step, though perhaps more for the latter than the former. Ireland could also consider taking a few players just to be around the camp and get used to it with the plan of full "initiation" at a later date?
Coner O'Shea for me. What he has done at Quins after the bloodgate stuff has been exemplary.
But if you said Nick Mallet to me i would not be disappointed.
Another thing on O'Shea is the IRFU seem to prefer using home grown managers, I believe they actually stated that a few years ago, so O'Shea is perfectly placed, and also as his new contract with Quins is just 2 years! as is more or less the same duration on DK's contract, also seems to place him in the crucial 2 year run in the the RWC should he be appointed.
Coincidence? I think not
I just feel all roads are leading O'Shea home right now,
Hey Taras mate.
Take a look at this! It seems the IRFU have been very quick to act on the failings at the weekend. Maybe and i know this is hard to read and indeed type, but maybe DK is not to be held totally accountable.

Just realized something after i posted that last message.
This is a little strange don't you think, that they post this Job Offer on the Munster and Leinster website?
I think i know whats going on here. They seem to be targeting Greg Feek
Well, not much point having a specialist scrum coach if he has no props to coach.
Oh, and I want Rodney Ah You drafted into the squad a.s.a.p. if only because he's called Rodney Ah You.
LOL
i heard role of this person is to develop scrum at school and academy level! Now to be fair that should have been done a long time ago, but at least it is being done now.
The one thing about Kidney i don't like is he is scared to blood young players unless they are from Munster let's be honest if he was fit Felix Jones would have started ahead off Rob Kearney, also his refusal to use provincial half back pairings.
