I was a bit disappointed for Raddi. He wasn't given any space by Leeds and struggled to really have a run with the ball.
He starts for the first time in months, we score 7 goals. Coincidence? He clearly did something, even if not much on the ball his presence on the pitch must have distracted the Leeds players.
Radi is lightweight, he will only work in a 3 man central midfield but boy can he be dangerous. He will start the next game. The team played so well last night that if Cotterill changes the team around (apart from injuries) then he should never manage again.
By the way, he has made many errors but I felt Cotterill got it right last night. He clearly did his homework on Leeds and used his knowledge to exploit their weaknesses. Bravo Steve. Same again please.

Eh?
No goals, no assists and no mentions as such in any of the reports I read.
Coincidence? Yeah, looks that way

So by your logic, we should probably sign Mr Blobby to play in centre mid. Distraction tactics at their best
Radi has been very poor for a long time now. I'd love it if he started playing as well as we know he can, but until then, he doesn't deserve a regular starting place, simples!

He's done nothing since November - clearly the lad's a liability.
Give the lad a chance FFS
No I believe that Radi playing his position doesn't pull others out of theirs. Listen up children and I will explain.
Radi plays the attacking midfielder role. Whilst JUICYPLUMS is right he didn't get an assist or a goal, what he fails to understand (instead trying to get a cheap laugh) is that Radi is very disciplined positionally. Not disciplined as his tackling is terrible but disciplined as in he understands how to play the position in which he is sitting in front of the midfield but behind the striker.
The only other player who can play this is McGugan but he is one of the most ill disciplined players. He follows the ball and will sometimes end up on the wings if starved of service. McGugan pulls the team out of shape if he is the attacking focal point thus making us ineffective and increasing the work load of our defensive midfielders and wingers.
With Radi understanding the role better it relieves the pressure on the wingers primarily and they can play wider thus being far more effective. It is no surprise that McCleary got four goals. Plus Radi has one of the best passes in the team and even when playing poorly can still turn it on.
Therefore to look solely at stats is a lazy thing to do. He may have had an uninspired game but he gives us a greater balance which is vital. Our team has been so unbalanced this season and that is where we have fallen down. In order to have put 7 past Leeds at Elland Road all 11 needed to be comfortable and playing at a certain level. Therefore I believe that my assertion that it was no coincidence that we put 7 past Leeds because of Radi is not ridiculous, obviously McCleary and the rest helped a lot.
Balance is important and I think managers make mistakes when they try and cram all the form players onto the starting 11 because you get two players trying to play the same position or role which is wrong. Anyway they are just my thoughts.
Redlaw you know your onions duck
In defense of JUICYPLUMS he's always been a stats man.
Having said that he does struggle on here
Our stats have been terrible this season. I am surprised he is not suicidal
redlaw. i agree with you totally. can't really understand why raddy hasn't played more this season.
it wasn't because of him that we scored 7 goals yesterday. maybe the players saw that he got a game and thought, right we've got a player in their who's gonna put a shift in and is a damn good player. maybe he's a popular guy and they were all really pleased that he got in the team yesterday and therefore went onto the pitch feeling really positive. they must have been because the performance was very positive.
wouldn't necessarily expect him to play this Saturday. i would like to see two up front again at the weekend.
4-5-1 with raddy behind dexter could be a good tactic in the remaining away games though
If you look at our first goal, its Raddy who wins two tackles then feeds it Pep, who scores.
Raddy in the teams seem to settle the hoofballers down and encourages a more passing game imo.

even if we were playing well and top of the league the only way to look at the leeds result is as a freak
it's an important 3 points and takes us close to safety but we may not see another game like that for another 30 years, i don't recall any forest matches with 10 goals during my lifetime.
Over the last couple of seasons we have played some of our best football with Raddi in the team, he is always available to take the ball and although people remember him for the goals against Derby and WBA his biggest strength has always been his passing. I don't read much into assists. A player can run the full length of the pitch, beating eight players in the process, then cross the ball in for a striker to nod the ball down to his strike partner to score and the striker nodding the ball down gets the assist.
our best football in the last couple of seasons was played with mckenna sitting behind cohen, anderson and majewski in midfield.
mckenna didn't run about much but was always issuing instructions and cohen anderson and raddy would frequently switch positions with all three being difficult to pick up.
we were extremely fluid and played excellent football consistently for a few months but were never the same after mckenna did his knee
