Alcarez through to the final winning by 3 sets to 2

Swiatek wins the final by 2 sets to 0 to clinch her 3rd Grand Slam title. She is certainly the best female player in the world currently.

Jabeur has now reached 2 slam finals in a row, pretty good but just hasn’t produced her best in either final.

Swiatek clearly the number 1 female player at the moment.

Alcaraz holds his nerve in the 4th set and wins the final 3-1. What a moment for this young 19 year old clinching the US Open and he is also now world number 1.
Ruud really should have won that 3rd set to be honest and that was the turning point.

Ruud to be fair has an amazing forehand, didn’t realise it was that good. But I think Alcaraz played better on the big points.

Bit gutted for Ruud but Alcaraz deserved it. It will be interesting to see how many more he can win. I still think Djokovic and Nadal will play for another 2 years at least. Djokokic will still certaintly win a few more grand slams.
