DID YOU KNOW that last season the record was set for most PL goals in a season (1084)?
This season, there has already been a total of 1081...........with 49 games remaining.
Taking this into account, it seems even more odd that no player has scored over 20 goals!
Could it be the case this season that far more goals have been conceded than have been scored, hence why the total is so high yet players haven't scored many?
Last season, for example, I remember there being loooooads of goals scored. Haaland even broke the record, but I don't remember so many goals being conceded by teams.
Sheff Utd if they concede tonight will be worse than the worst ever team in history, Derby 2008, in terms of goals conceded. So they will set the record for most goals conceded.
So it begs the question, are teams conceding far more goals these days than teams are scoring them, in the PL?
Has the number of goals scored reduced whilst the number conceded increased dramatically?
Interested to get your thoughts.

More goals are being conceded due to the extra length of extra time. I think its playing a role in injuries too. Would like to see stats on injuries compared tp previous seasons

If u score a gol, u hand pisession of the ball too oposition in center of the fealed witch is alot moor closerer 2 ur gol than it was wh u were in oponant pk area so u risk concedin
If team stop scorn tactically stoopid gols they wud conceed less

How does it compare against most goals in an English top flight season?

35th highest ever in terms of total goals per game. It would be interesting to see the breakdown of scored vs conceded for those other years higher though. Even weaker defences back in the day.

Added time is being more carefully calculated - as a result each game probably has on average a few minutes of football across both halves, especially when teams are fatigued & mistakes occur at the end of the second half.
