No doubt we'll be knocking on their door in a couple of years once Chilwell breaks down, Cucurella continues to disappoint and Maatsen probably leaves

If there's no buy back clause then we deserve all the pain we get.

Eddie Howe got both our academy fullbacks - Livramento and Hall.

Should serve Newcastle well for the future

Just doesn't feel right spending millions on unproven, foreign talent only to sell our own academy players who have performed when called upon.

Presumably Poch has taken a good look at Hall and said that he doesn't need him given the other options in the squad including Maatsen. We obviously need to sell players to help purchase the likes of Caicedo and Lavia so £30 million for an unproven player isn't too shabby.

In an ideal world I'd have rather kept Hall but I seriously doubt he'd have featured much barring a massive injury crisis. We could have loaned him but £30 million certainly helps us balance FFP.

If you look at the squad, he's got Hall, Maatsen and Cucurella as cover for Chilwell. It's unlikely anyone will offer us good money for Cucurella so we're stuck with him. Selling Hall and Maatsen would represent pure profit for our books.

Selling our good prospects to cover our expensive flops. If they belonged to another team we’d be trying to sign these guys, for more than what we’re selling them for.

Dunno. I like Hall a lot from what I've seen but I'm not sure he's a midfielder we'd be looking to sign ahead of the likes of Caicedo and Lavia tbh.
