This is beyond absurd. Every training session yields a new injury.

I find it easier to pretend James, Nkunkwho, Lavia and Fofana just don't exist.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The club accountants probably wish they could do the same thing as well. I dread to think what we've paid just those four players in wasted wages this season. Must be close to £50 million on just those four alone. That's not even counting all the other injury crocks.
posted 1 week, 6 days ago
Would be very interesting to work out how much we've paid out in wasted wages this season to all players in the squad during the weeks and months that they've been injured and therefore unavailable for selection. We must be talking around the £100 million mark easy. Maybe more.

Anyone here John Terry recounting the story of how they didn’t like AVB from the beginning because in pre season he put the whole team in first class and economy each way which included youth instead of youth in economy and seniors like him Lampard and Drogba in first class

Not sure what I think
In one way I get it, youth players shouldn’t get to experience first class they have to look at the seniors and admire them and work their way up to it like them and graft
In another way seems a bit petty with a new manager and set him up to fail instantly
Although overall I take JT’s side

Enzo Fernández: “My operation was successful, I needed to get this surgery since l been dragging the pain for about six months”.
“It was something I could avoid while constantly treating myself with injections and medications. But a few weeks ago the pain started to get more and more intense, without any of this taking effect, and it was worse as I trained and played annoyingly, but I didn't want to stop being in the games I had”.
“Whenever I got to play with Chelsea jersey, like the national team, I always try to do my best despite all this but I can't stand it anymore”.
“I will be back soon and stronger!”.

To be fair, he's been mixed rather than poor.
That said, I would argue he'll never world class in Poch's system.

When did Sterling get injured ffs, he’s not even played recently
posted 1 week, 6 days ago
Since 2022 we’ve got rid of Alonso, Emerson, Maatsen and Hall
Instead our LBs are Cucu and Chillwell. We wouod genuinely have been better off with any of the first 4, than the two we’ve bought/kept. That’s insane.
Alonso isn’t necessarily better than Cucu but we would have saved £60m and at least he actually scored sometimes. Both are crap defensively anyway.
posted 1 week, 6 days ago
Likewise Emerson wasn’t good enough but we would have saved £50m keeping him instead of failing to upgrade with another subpar player
posted 1 week, 6 days ago
And obviously literally anyone who can play more than 10 games per season would have been better than Chilwell

I like Cucu - he's not a great left back but reminds me of a demented poodle as he basically chases every ball on the pitch. Also had Saka in his pocket Vs Arsenal (most came from the other side) and was one of our better players midweek

-------
Therein lies the problem. He's not a great left back, well that's his position and he cost £60 mil.
Him chasing the ball is mainly the reason he's terrible, he's out of position because of it.
Just another crap signing in all honesty. Chilwell's been worse than him this season which just shows how badly we need a LB and how stupid it was letting Maatsen go.
posted 1 week, 6 days ago
Even if Maatsen isn’t the answer the point is surely it’s better to go with him as an academy player than spend stupid amounts on players from other teams who aren’t clear upgrades.
posted 1 week, 6 days ago
Well LB problem I feel you can lay squarely at the feet of Pooch, we have had others available. He didn't play them, he can tell Cucu to stay
