Also elephant in the room needs to be discussed.

Enzo fernandez. We have no control with him playing and get overrun in midfield. If hes having an off day on the ball he offers less than 0 and even helps the opposition.

The best football weve played has still been in that period where he was injured which can be a one off, but its not a one off at this point. He's only had a handful of excellent games in nearly 2 years.

He looked good for Potter. Never convincing last season but first third was spent on the failed CAM experiment, and the other two thirds he allegedly was playing injured. Not seen the games this year to judge.

I still like him, but my impressions of him being a calibre of player you'd want to build around are dwelling.

My concern is that Fernandez still being played in a fairly advanced midfield role which negates his attributes. He's clearly a regista type player in my eyes so he needs to play deeper. That was one of the things that Potter got right.

Not saying I know better than the current manager as I clearly don't but I'd much rather see Fernandez in the deeper role with Caicedo pushing forward. Think people forget that Caicedo is a baller and has plenty to offer in the final third. Not saying he's the guy that's going to rack up loads of goals or assists but he can certainly play a role.

That's the problem with Enzo & Caicedo, both appear better suited playing deeper. It's like Gerrard & Lampard but the DM version

That's the next experiment worth trying though - how our managers fit Jorginho & Kante into the same team. It negates Caicedo's ability the bust aggressive presses somewhat, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Biggest mistake Enzo M has made thus far. Well one of 2, first making Enzo captain, second not dropping Enzo who I agree done nothing wrong on the weekend..........but also done nothing and really added nothing when Sancho needed support. Always so slow, and honestly feels even worse since being injured and that Liverpool game is looking further and further away.

Why has ten Hag not been sacked yet?

It's clearly done! What are United waiting on?

Enzo done nothing wrong at the weekend? he started about 5 forest attacks and when we were knocking on the door scuffed two corners that didnt get above the first mans shin pads.

Really poor performance I thought.

Yeah I wouldnt mind swapping either, as we done with jorgino and kante.

I think whats stopped managers doing it is caicedos poor passing ability. For every ball like he done for jackson v west ham, theres several bobbly, underhit/overhit passes where he looks technically lacking.

We've improved on that front (technical players) with the addition of sancho, we have palmer, sancho, nkunku, neto, colwill, cucurella looks better.

But we still have some heavy handed players which was shown by our loose balls which forest kept countering and winning fouls from.

Honestly I'm not convinced that Caicedo is just a deep lying midfielder. We just seem to play him there. I think he has plenty to offer in other CM roles than just that imo.

Kind of reminds me how we stubbornly only ever played Mikel as a DM even though he clearly wasn't a DM and never otherwise played there apart from with us lol.

Don't worry they'll have a shiny new manager just in time for facing us. Swear teams use us as a benchmark that they have to get a new manager in just before playing us lol

Superb, I won't call him a deep lying playmaker, he covers too much ground for that. You mentioned regista earlier for Enzo, I'll throw you another FM role & claim I see Caicedo as a 'segundo volante'

In previous eras I see him playing higher for sure, but these days where pressing's become so intense from the front, someone like him who can hold that ball under pressure + carry it forward you ideally want in that first phase of build up.

tbf I wouldnt worry about who they have as manager if we put in as pitiful an effort as we did the last two years

Segundo volante sounds like something out of a Bond movie. Is that a new term on FM or has that being doing the rounds for a while ? I used to play a lot of the 03/04 season lol

Why though? Unless United go on a mental run from now any negative result will get a huge toxic reaction until they do it. What's the point?

I'd never heard of it. All the other fancy terms like trequartista, raumdeuter, enganche, etc... I'd seen in passing at different times so been around for awhile. But that, never

It plays in-game like a box to box midfielder with more space to influence the match on the ball, pretty much how I see Caicedo.

Game still doesn't have a role for what Kante was. Still gotta be box to box with all the aggressive off the ball instructions manually activated

Raumdeuter, that tickles me more that it should lol. Enganche sounds awesome, no idea what it means but I'm picturing Cole Palmer as a highly skillful enganche

It's a CAM who doesn't move. Picture all those 90's playmakers, Riquelme is a fantastic example of one
