I like Dier but he’s lack of mobility causes me great concern, he’s young yet looks like he’s getting slower and slower each season. I’m not sure DM is suited to him anymore.

An early goal is definitely needed. I rdon’t ally hope the players aren’t feeling sorry for themselves. We need a big performance from all of them.

Dier has seemed to get better in people’s mind since he’s not started.

Most didn’t want him near the team last season

We were always a lot more defensively solid with Dier dropping back in to make a 3 when our full backs went forward

That was during his first couple of seasons, I feel like he has regressed since then.

Because we miss the player he was at his best

If it's a diamond, with that personnel - full backs especially - this could be another long afternoon of slow turgid struggle to break them down.

Absence making the heart grow fond is a real thing for most of our squad

I dont actually think this will work but dont think I'll feel good about it until I atleast see dier get a game in midfield, then when he plays badly I can know that's its officially over.

It's like aurier this season - he got his chance and he faacked it so now I know that he should absolutely never play for us again
