The reason England remains number #1 despite losing 2 teams in the group stage is due to the fact that ALL of their teams are seeded in their Round of 16 draws. Plus, the teams in the UEL and UECL will not be playing in the play-off, leaving England with no chance of losing more teams until March. Germany, for example, could lose Frankfurt and Freiburg in the UECL and UEL play-off. France could lose Rennes, Toulouse and Marseille in the UEL play-off.

We have to put the foot down and try and build a lead over them while at the club World Cup. No better incentive for the team now

I’ll just be happy to be back in the CL next year, anything else is a bonus.

I can see them having a season where they crumbled if we can get a lead a bit like when we won the league and Sterling started crying in England duty.

I know it’s cliche central, but there really are no easy games in this league and recent weeks have proved it. Even looking at those teams that are considered the weakest sides, Luton have one of the cheapest starting 11s in prem history and have given all of us, City, Arsenal and Spurs incredibly tough games. Only lost each game by one goal when they did. Palace had looked hopeless going into our game but didn’t deserve to lose and now get a point at the Etihad. Even Sheffield United look a very stubborn side to break down with Wilder back in.

Still find it hard to believe we will live with City later in the season and dont think we have the quality to win it but if we can build up a big lead over Christmas we have a good chance. That relentless spell was what won it for us in 19/20 in my opinion and broke them mentally.

Big added incentive tomorrow, just hope we can put in a good performance across the whole 90 mins, as they’ve been few and far between lately.

If we did build up a lead there'd probably be a new pandemic next spring though.

19/20 we were relentless from matchday 1 onwards. We were basically unstoppable.

Yeah we do need to put in a performance tomorrow, as others have said we’ve not played consistently well for a while. Needs to change tomorrow.
