I think they could both compliment each other well.

or get in each others way, Both ozil and sanchez needs to be played behind the striker or in a free role to get the best out of them. I dont see this working out tbh. unless they play sanchez as a false no9

Sanchez does just fine on the right wing.

Sanchez is very good on the wing.

He'll offer the runs in behind that Ozil has suffered from not having due to Walcott's injury.

We lived in Spain for 8yrs, returned to the UK in '09. I watched many many games at Malaga every season and I can honestly say that apart from the top few, the Spanish league is a walk in the park compared to the Prem.

As for the 'most are better than Palace' quote from 'Stretty'. No they're not bud.

Since he joined barca. If you wanna get technical it's as a RWF, but that's the same position arsenal will have him in.

They just need a RB and top class striker then they are looking good tbf.

Doubt it, Stretty, not when Walcott is fit anyway.

Ive never seen him play as a winger, I havent really watch many barca matches in last two years tbh but when ever I saw him, he was played as a false no9, or in a free role

Good for you. Five years ago isn't now.

And yes, they are. The fact your awful team finished so highly is case in point for how bad the pl has got.look at new castle as well. Couldn't buy a win in the second half of the season and still finished top ten. Dreadful.

Screen, not sure where you've got that from.

He's usually left or right wing.

Played up front once or twice when Messi has been out but not very often.

Sanchez would walk into any PL side, good signing for arsenal.

Certainly better than any of our wingers.

Darren - I said I hoped we were in for him not that I hoped he turned us down. You got it wrong in an attempt, I think, at humour. My advise would be to Keep trying

I thought he was playing in a free role, not the traditional wing role anyway. Do you guys think he'll be given a similar role while ozil play as a no 10? looks a bit unbalanced imo

posted on 10/7/14

I will.

If he plays on the left and Walcott on the right with Ozil in the middle it's well balanced, if anything.

Besides both are "focal point of of attack" sort of players, Itll be interesting to see how it worked out, then again Mata, kagawa kombo worked out pretty well

posted on 10/7/14

He's always played predominantly as a wide man, for Barca, Udinese and Chile. He will compliment Ozil well and allow him to play more centrally.

Brilliant signing for Arsenal.

@Stretty

How many points did the top teams in the Prem lose to 'lesser sides' this season?

As for my 'awful team' (Should I apologise for supporting my local club?). We finished 11th after doing diddly for the first 10 games. As I'm sure you're aware.......................it's all about the manager

When was Sanchez the focal point of attacks for Barca?

posted on 10/7/14

the main reason it didnt quite worked out for him at barca was because he wasnt the focal point of attack

Tux

Pretty sure both Barca and Atletico lost to relegated sides. Also compare the points teams from both leagues got and it's fairly similar. La Liga is a very good league.

posted on 10/7/14

Sanchez isn't the focal point of the Barca attack so I don't see the problem. At times neither is Walcott for Arsenal. That's what gives it a good balance because it's not reliant on one player.

Like

Not true, he did pretty well there. Problem is Suarez is better which is why they are selling.
